Performance is improved slightly. It now SOUNDS like a bullet. The thump is not much bassy but few more kilometers should add more bass.
Only problem I am facing is occasional misfiring, once every kilometer or while de-accelerating. I don't know what to do about it.

Sent the same to RE and showed the same to the service centre... They said they had not seen this and will try and source for this part..

Gr8, I am gonna change mine pretty soon too .. Check with RE about the mis-firing, RE engineer had told me that will be prevelant in this exhaust..

        • @virtualhemant hey Thats great dude.. Ya there will be backfire when you decelerate after a hard acceleration. May its more rich now. should see how it performs with a K&N. Busy at office, so couldnt do it.

          • Popping/backfiring is due to a lean condition during the closed throttle. Meanwhile, as of now K&N/free flow intake is not advisable as the engine could run lean. Wait till we figure out how to fool the ECU to start letting a richer mixture in.

            Cheers,

            Jay

            • yes, one reason for the back fire is becoz of lean mixture when you close the throttle. The other might be becoz of the rich mixture when we accelerate, which becomes comparatively leaner on deceleration which makes the unnurnt fuel burn - giving a pop in the silencer. Since my plugs are always dark, I wanna try with a K&N. Also when I rev the bike with Airbox open(in non dusty area) the rev and sound is proper. Hence I feel that the mixture is already rich.

Another culprit as always might be the Spark plug not firing. In the north there are caes in which the mileage went up to 45 from 25, after changing the plugs

              • Prabhu,

Are you satisfied with the sound you get out of the up-swept exhaust? As I mentioned earlier it is definatly better than the stock one but not the best.
I again went to the dealer yesterday and checked the thump of a Green Classic which is only for display and it really has a LOUD and punchy thump even while idle. I don't understand where is the difference. I feel my bike's thump is still muted.
Or is it that RE has twicked the exhaust for display models?

                • no I dont think RE has tweaked the display ones. I hope U changed the exhaoust along with the bend pipe.

Also I have also put a performance Air filter which is straight fit for our bikes. did a 145 kmph on saturday

Yes I have changed the exhaust along with the bend pipe. So if they have not tweaked it, I wonder how come there is so much diff. in thump?

Can you attach a pic of your poerformance Air filter? 145kmph sounds terrific.

                      • Could the Accoustics of the showroom itself, playing tricks on you?
I too felt a louder thump from the showroom's display model, than from my own. but I think it is because there, it is kept in a relatively enclosed space, and the walls etc are reflecting the sound back, like mad. Try revving your own bike in a room, if you can.

Initially I thought so. But this time I took the bike in open space and checked. It's not just loud but the thump is very clear. But this sound should give head-ache on long drives.

Wullah, 145 sounds good !! Is it the filter or the exhaust, thts picking up the top speed ??

My bike in stock did a speedo 135 kmph.. The GPS showed 128.7 kmph... Extremely happy as GPS is accurate ..

Also my bike sways a little after 100 kmph if its too windy.. Its not too scary, but not too comfortable either.. Is it only me or any of u have faced the same ??

                              • Well its the Airfilter thats making this speedy. The bull felt completely relaxed at 145.. it was not running out of breath. ya it becomes a bit wavy after 110+. Try shaking your head side ways :P
