@Hussler ... no idea about saree guard but crash guard cost me 1k. I fixed it from spare shop below the royal enfield brand store. Quality cant comment on it as its been only a month now. Need to see.

Got my TBTS delivered yesterday :-) but still have not seen the bull except in the pics :-( .

Should i get a short bottle silencer fitted right away or it is better to wait for
sometime before that can be done???

would you advice a goldstar silencer instead of a short bottle one??
if yes where can i buy one in bangalore (reliable source).

Sorry for the plethora of questions but its the first bull in my life and im excited....

    quick answers awaited eagerly :-)))))))))

Even i bought my first ever bull last month. it has done 1.4k kms now. feels great apart from small niggles.

Anyways to answer your question Gold star silencer i dont like personally. I will go in for short bottle one. As other experts in this forum advised not to go in for these after market silencer before 3k. Put it after 3k kms. Im going by there advise. waiting eagerly for my 3k kms to complete.

Regarding reliable source. i dunno. In one of bangalore signal another chap next to me had thunderbird with short bottle silencer. he also replaced it after 3k kms. He informed me in jc road we have a signal. instead of taking a right turn at that signal towards urvasi theatre go straight. towards right side there is a small passage where there are 3 shops. Alll genuine. silencer ranges from 600 Rs to 3k. He had put 800 ones and it was very loud. I prefer mild thump rather being loud. And the current one is very low. go n select as per your choice.

In team-bhp forum there was ad put for original gold star silencer by the person who manufactures himself. he asked for 1.3k for silencer and 300 rs courier charges. looks geniune but i cant gaurantee you nething. if you want have a look at it. Im planning to visit JC road next weekend as this weekend im going for a long trip. by the time i get back i should have easily crossed 2.5k kms. lets c. if want to sync up with me while purchasing the silencer PM me your number. will go JC road together.

@hussler, finish the running in of the bike.. let it go thru the first few services, then get the exhaust changed.. the free flow exhaust can cause pitting or burning of the exhaust valves if installed on a new engine ( in extreme cases, but why take a chance )

    Default Silencer?

So you guys change the silencer jut for the THUMP? I just got my TBTS 3 days ago, and already done 400kms. It's hard to stick to the RUN-IN procedures, but I have no option but do it. They say, "you could fiddle with your girlfriend, but not your wife!"

Help me here. I personally think the stock silencer looks and feels great, except that now at signals, I need to be looking at my silencer too just to check no one's kissing it. It'll probably be a while before I get used to this new way of riding, after 5 years on my trusted and never betrayed Pulsar 150.

I do intend to get a TEFLON coating done. Suggestions on whether to do it or not are welcome please. And what would be the recommended precautionary step to ensure the rims don't get rusted???

    Help puhhllzzz.

    Hi

No need for TEFLON coating in Bullets. I ride a eight month old Standard. All you need to do is to wash her every fortnight and wax polish her every month. I use an AMWAY car shampoo for washing and FORMULA1 car wax for waxing. As an additional precaution on chromed/buffed parts, I use a dry cloth to scrap away mud, if any, on the rims, spokes etc., in between the washing schedule.

My eight month old Standard looks as if just out of showroom. See photo in my profile. TEFLON will make us overconfident and neglect our bullets so that rust will creep in and it will be too late...

Is an upswept silencer a direct fit to the thunderbird??
I saw it on a RE classic 350 and electra UCE, it sounds very good.

    Default Got my TB

    Hi guys,

I got delivery of my new ThunderBird today. It was really exciting when I kicked it to life in 2nd kick

But I didn't like the horn. It's very low n unlike the bull. Any suggestion for horn changes?

And also precautions in this run-in period apart from 45-50 speed limit?

Congragulations on getting your Royal Enfield. Running in care well, Don't ever lug the engine from a low speed in a higher gear, always make sure you are in the right gear. Vary throtle input, baby the bike for the first 1k kms and then ride kinda vigoursly for the next 1 k. And mandatory oil/oil filter element change at 500 kms. Is what I can think of.
