After 2 Year still 'feeling like god'
Hi All,
Sorry for posting the ownership review after 2 years. this is my first review, so please bear with me for any typos and grammars.
Lets start....
Buying experience
Even though i didn't had an other bike in mind (rather in heart), just for sake of it i went and test road cb-unicorn trigger, which was released just that time. finally me and wife went and booked bajaj showroom rajkumar road, rajaji nagar.
buying experience was nothing to tell. asked me to come to showroom by 11 to collect and got delivered only by 6:30.
initial glitch: 1. bike odometer showing 25XX when the bike came out of showroom, they reset it to zero after i showed my frustration to them.
2. week after that my bike developed oil leak in front fork, which has been replaced under goodwill by showroom.
after that till now bike is server me very well with out any issue (touch wood ).
my experience with the bike.
I'm not going to write about riding, stability, brakes etc. this forum has more information that what require for us. i'm just going to tell how my life with the second love (cant tell first love coz i'm married )i have been riding my brother's discover150 and dad's HH acheiever150 for about 5 years before buying my own dream machine (still grinning). so i'm no new to riding. i day i took it from showroom to my home in HSR layout, i got many eyes staring at my bike - started to feeling like god -1
As soon as i parked my bike next to activa in signal, 8 year kid in the scooter started shouting 'papa super bike, papa super bike'. i'm grinning from ear to ear. my wife sitting behind me also was able to feel my expression - feeling like god - 2
yesterday near my office, waiting for my friend to arrive, a etios taxi drive parked next to week and asked me for millage 'saar, is there any other bike that looks like this and gives better millege', i told him there is no competition to avy now. my chest expanded 2 inch while telling that (i'm stupid ) - feeling like god - 3
even i'm amused sometimes, near a decade after launching, avy is able to grab attention now also - feeling like god - 4
to conclude
yes, this bike dont have back disc break
yes, this bike dont have alloy wheels
yes, this bike dont have tubeless tires
yes, this bike dont have tacho meter
but, with all these once you sit in this bike with upright posture and with one twist of trotlle. you started to feel like GOD -exactly as shown in add (i'm so god damn stupid )
regards,
Girish

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Test ride was amazing. Price is just too good.
Dont want any regrets in "festive season"
Is it worth waiting for the new model?
Are they going to significantly alter the design?
Will the changes be justfied by the 20K increase in price?
Will 220 production stop, once 200 is launched?
Also, starting 220 in winter. Is it a hassle?Last edited by rahulst; 07-16-2015, 11:20 PM.I love bajaj. Just not its hair oil, engine oil & lighting.

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Hello every one. Hope you guys are enjoying the ride on your avengers. I am a recent owner of Avenger 220DTSi. As this is a bike which has been in the market for a long time, all the specifications and other features are known to most people. So, I am only going to express my feeling of owning this bike.
Simply "WOW!!!"
This is my first bike and before this I have only ridden some of my friends' bike and that too is very rare. Now after getting a job my I have fulfilled my biggest dream.
"Getting my first bike".
Now after riding this "Red Phoenix" I truly feel like the King of the street. Believe me or not, I have noticed many turning of heads while I am on the street. Till now I have not done any long trips but one morning I have ridden it 66km at a stretch and Oh Boy!!!! What a pleasure it gives. I like the sound it produce. Not too loud not to low. It has enough power and torque to show. And there are the "Stares". Long, sharp stare of the people on the road with their eyebrows extended and without any blink and I was like "My Chest Become Blouse".
So in my experience till now, my "Phoenix" can fly with glory and can also steal the spotlight while flying through the city.

I have heard that the heat generation of higher rating bulb is so higher that you will have to change the sealbeam also to prevent it from cracking. Though I do not have specific idea of what bulb to choose. I am posting a link which I think might be helpful for you.

Have you done any modification on your bike like one extra horn or alarm or something like that? If yes, please provide me the power rating of that accessories please. I'll try to tell you if there will be any over burden on the battery.

1. Higher wattage headlight= Drawing of much higher current from your battery. Thus discharging of battery will be much faster. Hence the alternator will try to recharge the battery much faster and this will shorten the lifespan of your battery.
2. Higher wattage headlamp= Higher heat generation and the results may be horrible. You can crack your reflector and if it has the power of withstanding the heat it may be blackened after long time use. The wires may be melted and most horribly the starter switch contact may be melted.
Though technically you can upgrade to a higher watt headlamp, it will be somehow risky.
Now after a long speech of disheartening you there is a way also. You just have to get a generic automotive relay. What this relay will do? Well it will bypass the current drawn and thus it will save the starter contact. Though you must be careful enough while selecting the wire size and the fuse as the stock headlamp draws nearly 5.5-6 amp and the one you have mentioned(90/100 watt) will draw 7.5-8.5 amp current. So a reliable and knowledgeable mechanic is must.
Best of luck on your modification. Will look forward to get some pictures and feedback after your modification.Last edited by AbhiAvvy13; 08-29-2015, 06:10 AM.Phoenix Came, Saw and Conquer My Heart, Forever...
