True. Hopefully with the new performance restrictive rules, the 'spectacle' will improve.

F1 style pitstop was only for this race since the tyres didn't last in Race 1! And that too the pit stop had a minimum time limit!

The plan of switching up the grid in the Race 2 hasn't worked. The same guys are still winning. The Ducatis and Kawasakis, with the Yamahas finishing behind them. The Hondas, Aprilias and BMWs stand no chance the way things stand currently.

I wonder if the lack of interest in WSBK is due to there being no telecast on TV.

Yeah, for me this is a big reason. Also the WSBK official Youtube channel does not post highlights sort of videos the way MotoGP does and now F1 also does. Its really sad.

Its hard to actually watch WSBK content and that is what keeps people away from it maybe.

This is one of the reasons in India.

Globally though, WSBK has been on a rather downward trend for a few years now. Lack of 'interesting characters', the same guys winning always and manufacturers lack of interest has fuelled it. Also the top WSBK riders all being from one country reduces interest in the sport.

See how many people are talking about the Marquez-Rossi spat. Almost no one knows there was a Davies-Rea spat (on a much smaller scale) last year!

To add to WSBK's woes, the racing in MotoGP is fantastic currently. Which gives the casual fan little or no reason to shift their attention to WSBK.

From an entertainment point of view (the thing that actually sells), WSBK is not the best spectacle on two wheels currently.

But i still think compared to last years domination by Rea and Kawasaki the results indicate others being more competitive ,of course it's only the third race and Rea seems to be coming into form .WSBK has always been for racers not managing the transition to Motogp from other national championships like British SBK and others.

Even when it was being telecast it was always a poor cousin compared to Moto gp but now it does not figure at all in any news whereas Moto gp results have started to come in the corner of the daily newspaper .F1 seems to be getting more detailed coverage nowadays in the newspapers whereas it used to be a corner story previously ,the car manufacturers seem to have a hand in it . Maybe if our 2 wheel manufacturers who advertise in the papers push some buttons we may see more 2 wheel motorsports coverage.
