Yes Please, I've blown the engine of Fz16 2 times while riding in the hills. Eventhough Yamaha changed the piston kit under warranty, I sold the bike and bought R15. The engine's great but the bikes meant for only riding on the track. Not as much fun as the Fz16.

Please fit R15 engine in Fz16 nd call it the street fighter.

come on guys....R15 isnt 35-40 grand costlier only for its Delta box....R15's engine in FZ means FZ would also cost close to a lackh!.

I don't want a bigger engine, I want a reliable engine. Everything is good about R15 except its not enjoyable over the STANDARD Indian roads where Fz16 shines. I don't care about the cost. Just add LC engine like Ducati used to do with Monster line up the 'S4r'

I know someone who has blown it more than twice (and is still running the same bike). It wont take high revs as easily as a LC R15.

can u explain 2 times engine blown thing! just i cant resist on this.. because iam too reading it first time

It was March nd I started riding again. Took the Fz to the hills about 400kms ride every week. After 3 trips the engine started blowing out smoke nd a lot of it. After getting checked the Piston rings were gone. It happened again after another 3-4 rides nd yes I did the running-in part. 1st time it happened engine had over 6000kms on it.

The reason for such blow-up is: In the hills u r revving the engine more than you would in the plains, the Fz would never be in the 5th gear. Most of the time in 3rd gear. So there would not be sufficient air flowing over the engine block to keep it cool, nd cos of overheating the engine started smoking.

The R15 has over 8000kms on it. Almost all of it is in the hills riding hard nd fast. Not a single drop of engine oil used. Liquid cooling rocks.

I appreciate that Yamaha has come up with the kick starter, you don't know how much trouble I had been facing without the kick starter . I had to start the bike pushing it in 1st gear at many times due to battery problem.
