Never understood guys here... By just hearing the word '250cc' many guys here start saying 2L is a very reasonable price. P220 is a 220cc bike turning out 21ps. Ninja is a 250 giving 33ps. Now the major difference between them is the engine. For having a 250cc bike all you have to do is make a engine having a displacement of additional 30cc than the p220.(not comparing here.how you do it depends on the manufacturer.single cylinder.. or watever).

P220 comes for 82k. Now add in costs for the better suspension, full fairing, discs..so on and still isnt it possible to price it below 1.5L and earn a good profit on volumes??

This is indeed a good news but I highly doubt the pricing, no way Honda will price it so lower.

Probably being a single cylinder will help them keep costs low but still its Honda afterall when was the last time they priced anything cheap

i would like to agree with you, but the thing is not how much power you make.. but how you put that power on road... not the engine but its power delivery across rev range and smoothness.. and how it handles.. its the complete package that's what counts...

being a 220 owner myself i know its a very good and affordable package but even if you remove the engines from the equation i see that the cbr is a far superior package.

i read somewhere that Honda applied for around 26/27 patients for the development of this bike. this should explain everything.

A news too good for me.
If priced as expected then it will be a most reasonable upgrade from my trusted Unicorn.

And being a Honda, i have no doubt over it's components quality.

I don't know how to use the multiple quote option. Or i'm too stupid i guess. Anyway i don't see why some guys here are disappointed at the single cylinder spec. The Ninja has better ingredients, twin cyl, 33bhp, etc., etc., yes, but if Honda did the same, the CBR 250's price would be close to the 3 lakh mark or maybe more. It might have been less if some parts were localized, agree. But it's still a very good bike, i mean, it looks amazing, got the power to cruise with ease at 120-130kmph, it's got C-ABS, a 140 section rear tyre, and, above all, it's a Honda. Considering their split from Hero motors, I think they are headed in the right direction with this 250. If the price is sub 1.5 lakh (which is a bit doubtful to me), then it'll push companies like Yamaha, kTm (to be launched 125cc) and Kawasaki to revise their prices. (No offense meant to anyone here with this post)

P.S.: Hope they bring the Ninja's price down after the CBR launches

The single cylinder, <30bhp specs are breaking my heart... . And the price speculated is too good to be true. The major Indian two-wheeler manufacturers are not gonna allow Honda to do that...
And seems Ninja250R still remains as my next ride!
