    NEW DELHI: Two-wheeler maker Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) on Thursday reported a 42 per cent growth in sales in June 2011, at 25,367 units as compared to 17,895 units in the same month last year.

    Commenting on the June sales performance, SMIPL Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) Atul Gupta said, "We have received very good response from the market to all our products."

    "The growing customer satisfaction among present owners of Suzuki products has led to a positive word-of-mouth in the market. We are committed to give the best to our customers," he added.

    TVS Motor Co sales up 14% to 1,82,456 units in June

    NEW DELHI: Chennai-based TVS Motor Company today reported a 14 per cent increase in total sales to 1,82,456 units in June, 2011, as against 1,59,688 units in the same month last year.

    Total two-wheeler sales grew by 14 per cent to 1,78,633 units in June, 2011, in comparison to 1,56,685 units in June, 2010, the company said in a statement.

    During the month, total motorcycle sales grew by 5 per cent to 69,859 units from 66,452 units in the same month last year, it said. Scooter sales grew by 21 per cent to 44,281 units in June, 2011, from 36,742 units in June, 2010, it added.

    Domestic two-wheeler sales of the company grew by 11 per cent, with sales of 155,296 units in June, 2011, as against 1,39,905 units in June, 2010, it said. Three-wheeler sales in June, 2011, stood at 3,822 units, as against 3,003 units in the comparable month of the previous year, a growth of 27 per cent.

    Exports grew by 48 per cent, with total sales of 26,359 units in June, 2011, as against 17,782 units in the same month of the previous year, it said. The company exported 23,337 two-wheeler units during the month, as against 16,780 units in the year-ago period, up 39 per cent.

    Hero Honda sales jump over 20 pc in June

    NEW DELHI: The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda today reported 20.12 per cent jump in its sales for June at 5,12,244 units, over the same month last year. The company had sold 4,26,454 units in the corresponding month last year, Hero Honda said in a statement.

    "This is the first time the company has sold five lakh-plus units in each of the three months of a quarter... Sequentially, this is the fourth consecutive month of five lakh-plus sales for the company," it added. For the April-June period of this fiscal, the company saw its highest-ever quarterly sales at 15,29,577 units compared to 12,34,039 units in the same period last financial year, up 23.95 per cent.

    "It has been a record-breaking first quarter of FY'12 for us. With sales of five lakh-plus units in every month of the quarter and record 1.5 million units' total sales in the quarter, we have once again set new benchmarks for ourselves," Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua said.

    The first quarter has set the pace for the rest of the financial year and has put the company on course to surpass its target of six million sales for the fiscal, he added. "Our recent four new launches are doing exceedingly well and we look forward to maintain our growth trajectory in the coming months," Dua said.

    KOLKATA: Mahindra Two Wheelers (MTWL), part of the US $ 12.5 billion Mahindra Group, consolidated its presence in the two wheeler segment further in June 2011. The company's sales was up by 16 % at 11,748 units in the month under review.

    Total cumulative sales in the first quarter of FY12 stood at 32,276 units, indicating a growth of 18% compared to 27,258 units sold the same period last year. Incidentally, Scooter brands, Rodeo and Duro, now have consumer franchises of over 1,00,000 each. The company's two wheeler brands cater to a range of consumer segments.

    The Mahindra Rodeo with its very innovative, contemporary features is popular amongst the Indian youth, while the Mahindra Duro is positioned as a family scooter.     As a Suzuki owner i'm really delighted to know this news.. Roll in some new beasts (esp 250cc and naked tourers) and no one can beat u in India..

    As a suzuki lover, I want it to be in top four players in next few years. They need to expand their portfolio a bit, GS/Slingshot can have many versions as well.

    Default Bajaj's motorcycle sales in June rise 14 pc

    NEW DELHI: The country's second largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto today reported its highest ever motorcycle sales for the month of June at 3,22,827 units last month, registering a jump of 14.15 percent.

    The company had sold 2,82,808 units in the corresponding month last year, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) said in a statement.

    BAL recorded its highest ever exports for June at 1,42,124 units compared to 1,14,024 units in June 2010, a growth of 24.64 per cent.

    The company also witnessed its best figures for June in the three-wheeler segment during last month at 43,830 units as against 32,614 units in the same month last year, registering a jump of 34.39 per cent.

    Total vehicle sales of the company in last month stood at 3,66,657 units compared to 3,15,422 units in the same period a year ago, a growth of 16.24 per cent, the statement said.
