This bike lacks the cohesivness of the earlier design. The front and the rear end looks mismatched. The front indeed looks smaller and tamer now compared to the contemporary rear.

Other than that, its a nice refresh.

(Oh! And Joelled bike owners can heave a sigh of relief too! )
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

According to me, most of the performance seekers have already picked the bike in the last 3.25 years. This bike is for the people who did not pick the bike due to the plain looking rear & cycle tyres; and obviously for the posers.
All in all, a good move by Yamaha. 7k increase for a much sweeter looking bike is no big deal.

Its upto Yamaha to now ensure it doesn't got the Honda CBR250R's way - delayed deliveries & quality issues (earlier batches).

I did enjoy the webcast, until it screwed up just after the bikes were ridden onto the stage.
An amazing initiative from Yamaha. Gives the other manufacturers something to think about regarding the way they launch their bikes.

    My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

I think the cosmetic changes adressed most of the issues brought forth by the customers. This is a good thing from Yamaha. If they had bumped the power too much, it would have spoiled the reason they brought out a 150 cc. When a 250 cc comes out, expect it to have a real good jump in performance.

I think R15's look a little dispropotionate with the front being too big and rear being too small, now this disproportion has come down a lot. Thats good (still not my cup of tea)

It would surely boost up their sales as now more people would be game for the R15 because of the beefy tires and the rear.

it might also succeed to pull some of the old R15 owners to exchange the machine, but maybe not the one's who are willing to upgrade to a bigger bike.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

ha ha true!! but we needed a bike which should be a good tourer!! this one has got all qualities in terms of looks with wider tyre, decent weight ...only dilemma is speed !! may someone throw light on it after testing it with speed gun/gps!!
