Those were the words he loved, those were the words he lived by and those are the words he left us with. Legendary rally driver and drifting icon, Ken Block, has passed away. He lost his life in a snowmobile accident in Utah on Monday. Co-Founder of Hoonigan, 55-year-old Ken was out on his snowmobile with a group of friends near his home in Utah when the accident occurred.

Ken's team, Hoonigan Racing, made an official statement: "It’s with deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today. Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed."

Ken Block entered rallying in 2015 and won the Rookie of the Year in the Rally America Championship. Since then, he has competed in World Rally Championship and has won several rallycross medals at the X Games. Other than that, he has been associated with some of the most recognizable brands in the world such as DC Shoes and Hoonigan.

Despite being a formidable name in motorsports, Ken Block gained unforeseen acclaim and became a worldwide icon as he started posting Gymkhana videos on YouTube. A lot of people were doing drifting and stunts but the way Ken made those videos and the way he interacted with the environment, he became a sensation. With that, Hoonigan also became one of the most popular motorsport channels.

With that, we all know that Ken was a man of machines and spent a considerable time around automobiles. Unbeknownst to many, he was a winter sports enthusiast as well did a lot of snowboarding as well. Naturally, snowmobiles were subjects of his interest too.

According to the reports, he was riding a snowmobile on a steep slope when his snowmobile upended and unfortunately, landed on top of him. While he was out with his friends, he was alone when the accident occurred. While his passing comes as a shock to the whole world, our deepest condolences go out to Ken's wife and his three children.
