Does anyone here remember the introducing of GS150R which was codenamed Lanza? Almost everyone was bashing it based on a spy photo, how ugly it was, how very Unicorn-looking or copied from pulsar or what not. But the bike looked wonderful in person, and performs beautifully. So much that even after 3 years, I still can't find any worthy upgrade to GS150R. I hope this 250 too will continue in the same fashion. Let racers be on Yamahas, single tourers on CBRs, stunters and off roaders on Duke, and let family tourers be on Inazuma!

Eagerly awaiting the writeup, and really hope the bike gets launched really soon. (And pray that it comes around 1.5L, though the chances are slim )

xBhp should let go of this teaser thing, based on previous xbhp first impressions, one thing is for sure, this first impression report is not coming tomorrow ...

you can't find any worthy upgrade to GS150R....right from 180CC's to 1000CC, surprising...

looking at which I feel like saying "were the Suzuki guys sleeping while placing the exhaust and saree guard in position !! "The design is seriously a let down looking at the current scenario of our Indian 2-wheeler market ............. But these are my views ..........

let's see what xBhp comes up in the investigation report

suzuki was not only sleeping while placing exhaust and saree guard, but it was sleeping during the bike design also.

weight wise, this bike is in the league of Hyosung GT250R...

the colours available are black & a variation of red.. any other colour anybody know..??

the headlight and tail section are the worst designed parts and a grab rail that looks straight out of a commuter.

the seat looks comfy and spacious.

look at the black painted handle just below the seat aka bullet style, maybe to put it on center stand, maybe this bike will come with a main stand as well.

rider footpegs are not rearset, instead placed in a commuter position and quite low, that combined with two exhausts that are placed quite wide makes this bike not suitable for high lean angles during corners or something will scrap.

the chasis looks like a double cradle frame aka our desi bikes.

a parallel twin engine that is not high revving is something difficult to digest, but i guess thats the way it is.

suitable for family touring... as "animeher" puts it....maybe yes....

I should have said 'till 250cc, and including bullet of 350cc and 500cc'. Before anyone jumps with a pitchfork, please know that these are strictly my personal view. My required utility from the bike is very clear: It should be reliable, very few vibrations, as silent as engine in its catagory can be, best seats for rider as well as pillion, and involving machine.

Now, bullet (present thunderbird and classic) didn't satisfy on 'no vibrations' part, though some people absolutely love the thump. I couldn't take the vibrating mirrors and handles on the classic too well! Then while test riding Duke, the person from showroom had to sit on my shoulders (almost) because of very small pillion! CBR250 is having bit sporty position, and I don't think I can hold the position. Also, pillion seat isn't as wide/long as required. Thunderbird 500 was very interesting, but somehow, so many false neutrals in a relatively short test ride didn't inspire confidence.

So with all the above biases, I will still say that I am yet to find a worthy upgrade! Wish the thunderbird styling was done by Honda or Suzuki!

Not everyone wants to ride a sporty bike or a stunt bike. Even us steady tourers wish to have a good capacity reliable bike with standard sitting position and pillion comfort!

For some reason, I can't picture the design team in Japan/ Indonesia/ Thailand being given a brief like- "when it comes to the rear, it's critical that all elements should blend in with the saree guard and no sub-frame or exhaust should interfere with the flawless performance and form of the guard"
@princesirohi- Was actually thinking about the center stand too! This is one bike that doesnt look like will give a damn about getting a centre stand. Didnt notice any handle though

Edit: We Indians are a finicky, demanding lot- we want our cake and want to lose weight too! It's plausible that within a certain budget, one can't find a suitable bike that ticks the right boxes
Am one such case- After all my hopes of gettin the CBR250 were dashed on reading initial horror stories, I went and bought a pre-owned P200 start of '12 as there was simply nothing worth investing in for my needs at approx 2L :/

expected to be priced in the range of 1.5 to 1.9 lakhs.

comes with an in-line twin cylinder fuel injected liquid cooled engine. SOHC although.

    six speed transmission.

fuel tank capacity = 13.3 litres

the best design element of the bike is 3 spoke alloy wheels. (first in india)

i am a little skeptical about the service network of suzuki in india.

according to company this is a sports tourer ..

weight = 183 kgs make it in the league of Hyo GT250R.

may come with 2 years unlimited kms warranty...

accessory list consists of -- engine crash guard, center stand, small meter console visor, tank pad, tail hard case carrier and its adapter/bracket, tank bag and cell phone/camera/laptop charger... although the availability of these is uncertain ...i.e. when.

the center stand looks as ugly as the bike... lol..

sorry for back to back posts ....

Looking at this pic it looks that saree guard and left silencer will touch each other. Whats the use of that extra silencer?

    Love it.
13.3L tank is NOT good on a sport tourer as my apache 's got 16L I think!
