KTM reports that 123,859 motorcycles were sold worldwide, including motorcycles sold in India by partner Bajaj. This shows a 15.6-percent increase in sales over 2012. KTM attributes much of the success to the new 1190 Adventure and the 390 Duke. KTM also increased its employees by 147 in 2013 for a total of 1,849 employed. And KTM has 75 apprentices employed.

For the business year 2014, investments of approximately EUR 68 million are planned, exceeding the investments of business year 2013 by EUR 10 million. The main focus of the investments is on new development projects and on expansion of buildings and capacity, KMT reports. At the headquarters in Mattighofen, an increase in production capacity to more than 100,000 units is planned.

KTM expects further increases in sales and turnover for the business year 2014. Consequently, there will be a further increase in market shares, KTM says.

It's pretty straight forward for KTM, they had almost no presence in street bikes segment. So, with each new street bike launched, they are going to improve their sales numbers & market share as well. With Bajaj backing them up with manufacturing, they don't have constraints on manufacturing capacity as well as economies of scale. Future looks bright orange for KTM

Yep, they are pretty much competing against their stablemates only with no one to challenge them.

KTM is offering real good bikes at the best prices. So it's obvious that their sales figures will be north facing. And above all they are supported totally by Bajaj in all terms.

It would be interesting to see which all countries feasted on orange apart from India. Where they really made the majority of those numbers, is it EU/US/AUS ?

Hmmm... 1,23,000 bikes world wide... That certainly doesn't sound as something very impressive when you consider the fact that this will include its on road as well as it's off road bikes. The bikes are sold in 7 continents with the smaller capacity street bikes being identified as main growth area. The small capacity street bikes are not sold in the U.S. So that means that all the small capacity growth will have come from Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania.

What would be really interesting to know is the numbers for India and China. How much do they contribute to these numbers? On the face of it, 1,23,000 numbers indicate that it's not doing as well as it would like us to believe in India and China.

KTM's main markets are US & Europe, until recently KTM didn't have much presence in the street bike segment. Only after tying up with Bajaj, KTM got introduced into some of the Asian & Latin America markets with Duke series of bikes. My guess is in another 3 years, they will hit 200k bikes per year. This number is not small considering the price at which they are selling them, mind you they are not selling bikes like splendor/discover. Only in India Duke is sold at lower price.. coz we are lucky that Bajaj is manufacturing it in India.
