as per freakazoids' FB page, where these images first appeared, the new avenger is called The Avenger 220 Street (the "street" badge is clearly visible on one of the pics as well. Though I fail to understand why would they use the 220 engine when there have been reports of their newer 200 engine making its way onto the Avenger!

Why bajaj is going on path of Honda, relaunching the same bike with new color schemes.
I see some changes but it won't increase sales to 20,000 units pm.
Are they trying to tease public for upcoming CSIts not the Bike that makes a Biker perfect, its a Biker who makes his Bike perfect :)

Beg to differ Sunil... but manufacturers don't make/alter plans just because "there are reports" floating around.
We (you and me) have been around for eons to understand how and what kind of reports float on the net (even in national publications)..
.. don't you remember how the Ninja 250R was "reported" to be launched at Rs. 1.5 Lakhs... by each and every publication and Bakwaas Blogs?
.. don't you remember how the R15 was "reported" to make 21 PS by reputed journalists and Bakwaas Blogs?

See an engine lying around in the background in the first pic. Clear evidence that they are using old engines in new avengers. [emoji14]
Anyway it looks good from front view. Those spoke alloy Wheel on front looks good. Can't see back wheel. Is it upside down forks?
But the height of the bike seems still same (very low)

On the other hand i always wondered where will they place the 'CS200' if the Avenger also has the same 200 engine!(Been There Done That) x 3.25

.. also the development + retooling + setting a different assembly line up for the "new" engine would push the costs of the Avenger.
BTW do you really think mass (the ones who actually matter to a maker of mass motorcycles) are interested/aware of the difference between an air cooled and liquid cooled engine for Bajaj to take the gamble? Especially after the Pulsar 220 still being popular despite the 200NS being a much superior package?
For the masses the 220 is still a better dealer than the 200NS

re: Bajaj Avenger series launch on 27th October
If the 3 variants "reports" by CNBC is correct, then I expect
1. A Classic Chrome Avenger (like the current one) with Spoke Wheels to complete the "classic" look
2. A Black "Street" Avenger (the one seen in the spy photo) with alloy wheels (and possibly tubeless tyres as well)
3. No Idea Till now
All 3 to have the same 220 cc engine (to maximize profit with minimum investment)

re: Bajaj Avenger series launch on 27th October
For me, cruisers needs more torque, power and beefier specs than this. It should be able to do 100km/hr with no sweat. Tourers will carry heavy luggage and with a pillion as well. They are meant to ride in the twisties, hill range and other terrains easily. Basically continental cafe racer's engine in avenger with little more ground clearance and good suspension.
