Unless its (the hypothetical Bajaj scooter) as differentiated as the Pulsar was (in its time).. It would be a in most probability be wasted effort with a lot of time and resources and money spent.

(Like what the tvs and ray-z are doing..throwing a spanner in to Honda's sales)
I like the way Bajaj goes about their business.. the pulsar's , ninja's , duke's .. maybe they will go back to where they started.. just MAYBE

Bajaj had already tried once in this scooter market and they failed terribly with there krystal scooter, and now when honda is dominating this scooter sector it will be an Everest task to snatch a share from them.

Bajaj , a good company which once was aiming to beat Hero in sales...is now overtaken by TVS .. Badluck Bajaj, its time to stop launching new discover model every month or two. and yes lack of any scooter model is also hearting them real bad.

Hehe. I accept that. But they seriously need to get over the "Brand Discover". Its definitely not a "brand" like Pulsar, Duke or even a Splendour.

i visited a Bajaj showroom today for 200NS...i am not surprised by the news .....though i would like to see Bajaj bring in a scooter like no one has seen in the market till now.something in lines of a Kawasaki J 300..that would blow the competition away....if they plonk in a discover 150 motor mated to a 4 speed automatic...price it for close to 1L ....i can see myself queuing in the showroom for it....
Hamara Bajaj can sure rise if they increase the quality of the parts in the bike!!!!!!!

The impending launch of Victor and Zest(to some extent) would make matters worse for Bajaj.

Whereas Bajaj has a formidable line-up and are blessed with constant updates, that has backfired as there are just too many launches and too many discontinuations. In fact so many Discovers have been launched recently that i have lost track of em. And that's the problem with Bajaj right now. Having said that, Bajaj will still rule the roost in the above-150cc motorcycle category which something the competition can never dream of beating in sheer sales numbers.

I am not amused by the statement. The biker is not really interested in the company's strategy, and why should he? However, the truth is also that under that very same strategy TVS has overtaken Bajaj. Yes, I admit that TVS has a lot of moped sales too. However, if Bajaj never has a problem claiming its former No.1 position in two-wheelers then despite 0 bike sales, it can't crib about others having scooters and mopeds.

Hero is already starting a plant in Columbia and did not start in other countries because of its obligations with Honda. So it is not the case that Bajaj is doing something very novel. And what domination is Rajiv Bajaj talking of? Do Pulsar and Discover sell in Japan? Europe? US? He also makes laugh with his talk of "domination". Seriously. Remember when Honda overtook Bajaj for the first time in monthly sales? The arrogant Bajajs said "One bite does not make a summer".

Do you know how popular the pulsar's are in SE Asian countries and Colombia ? They dont have to sell in Japan US etc.. All that matters to a company is Sales, doesnt matter where they come from as long as it puts enough money in their pocket. Honestly, they do not care a **** about mine or our views.. We just speculate while they continue to make their moolah ! Everybody makes mistakes, and Bajaj is one of the companies that has been having a good run in the market, and i am sure they will go on to do well

So what if Bajaj is selling there products in other countries, yamaha and honda are selling there products all over the world from genrations with same reliability and top notch products, yes everyone will agree on the point that company don't bothers what anyone has to say about them and that's the biggest problem if they try to listen to customers they would not have lost there place first to honda and now to tvs, bringing out variants pe variants is not helping bajaj at all, i believe from the moment they have aquire stake in Ktm they are thinking of themselves as an sports bike or super bike manufacturers which they think whatever they will throw into the market is gonna sell, which honestly is not the case instead they should read the pulse of the customer and bring products accordingly.
