bah! yes, businesses are in the business that they're in to make money.

but these guys have been thinking with blinkers on.

it's high time someone said enough is enough.

Bajaj, TVS and Hero are ONLY going to building third world bikes for the next decade.

Just revise the INSANE import duties and let the Japs sell their 600/1000 bikes at sane MSRPs.

Why in the world should the government bother "protecting" their these manufacturers market buy imposing high duties on imports
when they have no intention nor the skill or inclination to build truly worldclass i4 600s and 1000s.

    Dogs in the manger.
It is inevitable. The imports will rule.

I heard this from a very senior level person. He said, "people who have no interest in bikes are managing a bike company ".

I feel the main reason for this is the success of the TVS Jupiter and maybe new launches in the 100-125 cc bikes for TVS. Bajaj on the other hand didn't have any new launch except for new colour options for their bikes.
Looking at their respective future plans below, Bajaj is bound to make up lost time and will regain 3rd position if not go higher..

    (bike advice)

Their entire pulsar line-up will undergo a big transition which will bring them to the top of 150cc segment again. The new 150NS mentioned above should definitely sell in HUGE numbers....the 200NS FI will help revive the sales of NS and 200SS is expected to be very good. The 400 cc bikes is definitely what enthusiasts want and going by Bajaj's principles shloud be priced very attractively. So these might also translate to good sales numbers.
But they should definitely do something about that super confusing discover line up to stop loses in that segment.

    (bike advice)

Tvs on the other hand are looking to ride on current success and are launching another scooter and commuter bike. I doubt they will be as successful again. The new Apache however should be interesting and hope it is priced well.

Hero has only the HX250R launch in the near future and this might cost them dear because they are not doing as well as they would have hoped in the scooter segment ..wont be too surprised if they lose their position too..Honda is apprently readying a 150-160cc bike so lets see how that turns up..

The Market is gonna be very interesting for some time now.

neither in Pune. They must be popular in andaman and nicobar.
I think TVS launched some lunas too.

Anyway, they probably still are most money making automobile company in India.

Everyone's fighting for a chair made of thrones but the king beyond the wall (150cc+) is different.

I have seen no of tvs jupiters in delhi but yes if you compare the percentage with activa then it's almost nil, most of these manufacturers are concentrating on these no-nonsense scooters even to the likes of yamaha also, hero will be coming up with there dash scooter and tvs will launch scooty again with star city engine.

TVS is strong in Tamil nadu and other southern states .
And bikers will notice only bigger bikes and tend to ignore smaller ones that's the reason we don't spot one .

Still people here prefer RTR over pulsar 180/150 .

Bajaj has to introduce good scooters back in the market .
