    Hi Prospective buyer of R3,

How would you convince yourself to buy R3 when some of the competitors provides good deal (in term of technology, prices and look) ? I still not convince myself to buy R3 over other competitors bikes i.e. TNT 300, Ninja300 and RC390.

For that you take a test ride. When it comes to motorcycles don't convince yourself. Buy whatever your heart says.

What is the waiting period? Does it come with any extras? Like Saree guard or something? Is it mandatory for these bikes? Where will be the number plate placed on the front side of the bike?

What extras, everybody hoped for ABS they removed this so called extra feature. What else do you want, seat cover, rain cover. ???

Upon reviews online, I have seen the number plate holder near the windshield.

Saree guard as usual will be there, even the cbr 650f has it. So nothing to worry about, as you can remove it.

    Cheers,
    Sanjay

As Deathmate aptly said, do what your heart says.

But I can give my reasons behind R3.
    1. I am riding R15 (V2) form last 3.5(52k Kms) years and have no complain. That builds the reliability and trust in a Brand.
    2. TNT300: Awesome exhaust, but I did not like the overweight (196 kgs) and the engine smoothness. I am in to touring, so a faired bike is more preferred than a naked bike.
    3. RC390: Very aggressive seating posture and for touring its not that comfortable. I will be riding the bike in daily office commute and also in touring, so needed a comfortable one.
    4. Ninja300: No negative points. Just that, I like Yamaha more than Kawasaki.

As per showroom here in Pune, delivery will start form September 1st week.
Yes saree guard is there, as that's mandatory.

How does it matter to a buyer that where the number plate will be placed?

I just wondered how it will look, after placing the number plate on the front side. As in other countries I guess it is placed only in the back end which doesn't affect the look of it that much.

man you put me in a tight spot i was thinking of Ninja300 and R3 and questioned myself and was unable to find right answer to convince you for r3. Heck thats part of the job of a sales man at the showroom.

my requirements were simple. I need bike for touring long distance (300cc with good power and comfort) on highway without complaining and durable quality. hence N300 and R3. with R3 costing little less and offering a little more than N300 i say i am going for r3. Its lighter, better comfort, better torque, powerful headlights and no, i dont mind the absence of slipper clutch, have shifted gears pretty good on my r15 , and also because i trust this certain reputed person who said 'engine and the gear box are awesome'. both are great machines and i am settling for one. If there was no R3 ever then you know my answer

PS: someone will accuse me of being fanbuoy no complains though. Sadly i have to wait for few months to get my hands on r3

    1. I am ex-owner of R15 V1 and I have same feeling about the Yamaha, however I found that this feeling was developed due to absence of the other major players. I remember I would like to buy CRB150R before R15, since it have better technology and good top end speed.

But now today, matter is different, most (either new or old) of the players have good/best quality products in the line, and every product has a life cycle and according that you will face issue/problem.

    1) I read some where that R3 have poor headlights, please check it.
    2) As I read some articles and owner experience that suggest that slipper clutch will be most useful on the curve/tight corner when you need to forcefully step down gear and it may lockup the rear tyres. I did many times in my R15 on highway but never face the any issue may be due to small engine and low weight of bike.

Not to forget N300 has at 17L tank, which is a boon for touring. Even I am in the same boat, to keep duke or go with N300 or R3.
I am so used to riding a bike with ABS, I am scared to think about riding one without ABS. No test rides available for N300 or R3, how to finalize my decision
