Default Watch out Striple and z800, the APRILIA SHIVER 750 is here

The Aprilia Shiver 750 was showcased for the first time at the India Bike Week motorcycle show in Goa to gauge the response from the two-wheeler enthusiasts before its official launch.
With its sculpted fuel tank, contrast coloured frame, petite headlamp and the under seat exhaust make the Shiver 750 a sharp looking motorcycle despite the fact that its almost eight years old. The Aprilia Shiver 750 is powered by a 749.9cc, liquid-cooled, V-Twin motor pumping out 95PS and 81Nm of torque. The twin-cylinder mill is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Aprilia Shiver 750 employs a trellis frame that is suspended on beefy USD forks at front and an off-set monoshock suspension at the rear. The bike employs ride by wire technology and three riding modes sport, touring and rain. Anchorage is provided by disc brakes at front and rear while ABS is standard. The Aprilia Shiver 750 will compete against the Triumph Street Triple, Kawasaki Z800 and the upcoming Benelli TNT 600 in our two-wheeler market. The Aprilia Shiver 750 is speculated to be launched by early 2015 and will carry a sticker price of around Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).

Someone in this forum earlier quoted that the BN600i looks exactly similar to Shiver 750. No wonder we are seeing replica's from the Chineese owned firm (except the TNTs)

As a CBU Shiver 750 cannot be imported in India since it is below 800 cc and I don't think CKD is an option for Aprilia as they do not have plant set up in India. So this cannot be launched in India unless I am missing something

It *IS*a CKD. Thats why it is 8 Lakhs.

They sell it as CKD in Malaysia, which is a much smaller market than outs.

Why on earth would they showcase it in the IBW then?

Also that article was just for the CKD thingy.

Maybe you should've read the opening post instead of being so dismissive and brash and arrogant(as deciphered from the smiley used)
