The first batch of 18 students at the Alisha Abdullah Racing Academy for Women has been selected from 80 entries after clearing rigorous tests. These riders are now being trained to improve physical fitness and hone their racing skills. The academy is based in Chennai and the racers will be trained on a hired racing track according to their training requirements.

Alisha Abdullah, founder of the Alisha Abdullah Racing Academy for Women said, Arvind Pangaonkar, Head - TVS Racing Team said, Since the past 33 years TVS Racing has been actively participating on and off- road racing events such as road racing, Super-cross and Motocross, Dirt Tracks, Rally etc. TVS Racing is the only factory team in India to have any woman rider as a part of their team. In early 2015, TVS Racing became the first Indian factory team to take part in the Dakar rally, which is the longest and toughest rally in the world. TVS Racing won eight championships across all forms of two-wheeler motorsport events Supercross, Rallies and Road racing last year.

Very positive news. I'm happy to know that at least one Indian company is actively promoting racing, and that too women in racing and touring as well.

Recently, they also gave Anam Hashim her first TV advertisement. Anam has taken the Scooty to ten mountain passes and documented the journey:- https://www.youtube.com/embed/3mPHaJdlqyw

It had hurt me a lot when a company used the tagline "Leave track Racing to Amateurs" for a particular product, but this is a great sign indeed.
The company needs to further make efforts to hold track events and use them to encourage people not to race on roads, but instead take it to the track.

and the same company used the same product to conduct a recent event on the track

tvs has been a dominating force on the dirt track and racing scene in India for a very long time but unfortunately they haven't been able to produce as many or say market their performance segment of motorcycles successfully.
the other manufacturer on the other hand with almost no presence in the professional racing scene in the past has managed to create an impression of 'racing' and 'aggressiveness' in their line of 150+cc motorcycles and a nifty business move a couple of years ago bringing in a company with vast racing experience !

Learn TVS, LEARN !! (psst, yamaha and honda too!)

btw, nice to see the ladies all suited up

Yes because they are sensible enough to not launch a bike which weighs 98kgs and produces 32bhp.
Coming to the performance biking part, the bike which left the racing to amateurs, has stopped the production due to very low sales. Atleast, TVS hasn't stopped sales of their so called flagships yet.

I don't think you understood my point
And am not even going to try and explain it.
