  • Bimota Tesi H2, after making waves at EICMA 2019, is finally here!

A motorcycle that made waves at the EICMA 2019. A motorcycle from a brand that has been revived recently. A motorcycle with the heart of a Ninja H2. We are talking about the Bimota Tesi H2 and it is finally here... and even available for pre-booking. Bimota has announced that it that the radical Tesi H2 will be released on the first of October.

Bimota was quite an admired Italian brand and its revival (with Kawasaki buying a considerable amount of shares) was met with a lot of fanfare at the EICMA 2019. And all of that is justified considering what an absolute marvel their comeback motorcycle, the Tesi H2 is. Anyway, the production of the motorcycle will take place in Bimota's famous Rimini factory. Like most motorcycles of this sort, the Bimota Tesi H2 will also be a limited-edition with each motorcycle carrying a unique serial number plate.

One of the biggest highlights of the motorcycle is the hub-centre steering developed by designer Pierluigi Marconi. In effect, the front swingarm means to separate braking forces from suspension movement. As a result, the motorcycle can cope with bumps better even under hard braking. This should also help the motorcycle alleviate the constant geometry changes that a motorcycle undergoes because of the conventional telescopic forks.

As we have already mentioned before, the Bimota Tesi H2 powered by the supercharged mill from the H2 which is good for 228 bhp. It is the same unit that powers the new 2020 Kawasaki Ninja H2. Though it is far from the 300+ bhp of the H2R, it is still a significant leap over the older H2 which made around 197 bhp of power. The tuning also seems to be exactly the same as the peak power arrives at 11,500 rpm, the same as the Ninja H2.

While the Bimota will inevitably be pricier than the H2, it has some neat tricks to try to justify that. In addition to the hub-centre steering, the motorcycle gets a generous sprinkling of carbon-fibre. And as a direct result of that, the motorcycle weighs around 28 kg less than the Ninja H2. The kerb weight of the Bimota Tesi H2 is 214 kg.

Even dimensionally the motorcycles are not very different despite the radically different chassis layouts. The Tesi H2's 1,445mm wheelbase is 10mm shorter than the Ninja H2. Width remains the same but the Tesi H2 is slightly taller at 1,145mm. More interestingly, while limited to 299 km/h in the top speed department, we are sure that it is capable of quite a bit more without the electronically-limiting shackles

Limited edition, radical design, hub-centre steering, a supercharged mill, and a lot of carbon fibre. While we do not expect the Bimota Tesi H2 to come in cheap... yet, the ones with the money won't mind paying simply for Bimota, what it brings to the table, and the exclusivity that comes with it.

Is it a first? I have never seen any other bike with 2 monoshocks before.

Someone please explain how does this vehicle turn? I can't possibly figure out which part of the steering assembly physically moves.
