Default Triumph Moto2 765cc Triple sounds ungodly: Moto2 to get melodious

We all know what the Triumph Daytona 675 sounded like. We have all heard the beautiful thrum of the Triumph Street Triple 765. And we all know that Triumph will be the engine supplier for Moto2 after this season. It’s not hard to guess where we are going with this. The Triumph Moto2 765cc Triple engine is being exhaustively tested and it sounds insane.

Plug in your headphones and listen to this: DYNO RUN OF THE TRIUMPH Moto2 MACHINE

The video shows the dyno run of Triumph’s Moto2 machine. The news that Triumph will supply their 765cc triple mill for Moto2 is quite old and the engine was being developed and tested for a long time. Seems like the motor has come to its final shape as the British GP at Silverstone this Sunday, will feature a parade lap of Triumph’s Moto2 machine and too wearing a Union Jack color scheme.

The engine has been derived from Street Triple’s 765 triple motor. The peak power figures of the engine are mind boggling as well because it supposedly churns out 170 bhp. The Honda CBR600RR engines currently in use in Moto2 produce around 130 bhp. So, Triumph’s 765 triple is a huge leap from the CBR600RR’s inline-4. What’s interesting is that the currently the Moto2 bikes aren’t much slower when compared to the big MotoGP machines. And with the engine change and the increase in power output, the gap is going to shrink even more.

Thumbs up Re: Triumph Moto2 765cc Triple sounds ungodly: Moto2 to get melodious

Surely sounds awesome in high revs, for a minute, I thought the guy didn't rev hard, it was sounding stock like, but at 1:21... 170 bhp on wheel is awesome for such a light machine.

Although, I'm not too sure of the gap between Moto2 and MotoGP, it mustn't decrease too much. With this move, Moto2 gets faster?

And of course, since this bike will have a lower top speed than the MotoGP machines, there will naturally be smaller wheelbase too and maybe lower overall weight, which means it might be faster everywhere except the straights. MIGHT be. Can't be sure about this..
Not to mention the 3 cylinder setup which must help a lot with cornering. I know I'm comparing a road derived machine with a born prototype, but the money and time invested in this bike is good enough.

765cc is so close to 800cc which was the premier class cc limit few years ago (though it was 4 cyl.).
And 800's were pretty close to 1000's, showing how far we've come anyways..

Let's see how it turns out.
