I guess the pegasus owners should be happy with whatever they have and shouldn't demand their money back from the company i.e because first they themselves choose the big bulk metal as their ride, they should be happy about their choice as they got dual disc because of dominor in the market..now RE has added ABS too, probably to compete with dominor and other bikes in the market, so IMHO RE Boys should be happy that their getting some technology on their metal movers.. Because of other brands bajaj to be on point
INVEST IN AN RE AND REGRET OR BE HAPPY, BUT DO NOT ASK ANYTHING BACK FROM THE COMPANY, else the company sentiments gets hurt forget about the riders

Here AFAIK point is not the technology.. it's about the pride and the emotions.
They've all paid extra for the limited edition tag.
Now RE is doing something globally stealing same platform and theme as Pegasus bikes and made signals available for public. This doesn't make any sense.
I mean if Pegasus is so great that RE made it limited edition.. then where are signals lacking?? They also made limited edition tag under 350 cc class no?

So, what did Royal Enfield do wrong with their loyal fanbase? They did the right things, yes, but in the wrong order.. Let us see..

    1. Firstly, they launched Pegasus edition of Classic 500, which was limited only to 250 units, and was priced at Rs 2.40 Lakh.
The Classic Pegasus edition's official link is here: https://royalenfield.com/motorcycles...c-500-pegasus/

    2. But then, they launched Classic 350 ABS Signals for Rs 1.61 Lakh in India (which is a solid Rs. 80,000 lower than the Pegasus edition), to pay a tribute to the Indian Armed Forces, in roughly a similar theme as the 500 before it.
As you can see, this one costs much lower, has similar classical design and ABS too, which is not even present in the senior model.
    Its link is here: https://royalenfield.com/motorcycles...c-350-signals/

I leave the comparison to you...

So, as a result, disgruntled Royal Enfield Pegasus 500 owners have called the RE CEO out on Twitter, with their demands which range from company recall for ABS, to refunding a certain sum, to make a low-loss exchange possible...

And Royal Enfield responded, not quite the favourable reply the owners were expecting but still, here it is:-

Some owners, understandably not happy with the above reply, are contemplating what once a famous Maharaja did to Rolls Royce, I guess you all remember the story?
Yes, donating the bike to Municipality for "Swatch Bharat Abhiyan" is what some of them plan/threaten for now.

We at Xbhp hope that doesn't happen.
The owners have stood by the brand in highs and lows, even when Bajaj was promoting the Dominar and indirectly belittling RE with a "hathi mat palo" campaign.
It would be sad to see such pictures go viral, specially because they're dedicated to WWII.

Recently we saw KTM responding to a call for action, by a group of customers, but that was for quality issues from the assembly line itself. This time the situation is different, but we're still talking about premium customers...

Dear Royal Enfield, we've seen your response, but do you have an action plan for now?

And Rushlane for the RE's reply image.

    Xbhpians,

Let's play a small game to have a mutual understanding of how serious the problem is.

I'm attaching 2 images of fuel tanks of both the bikes, and I'll ask you a simple question:-- Which one is Pegasus 500 and which one is Classic 350 Signals (ABS)... ?

You can answer in the poll above. So, here we go....

I think that Pegasus LE owners have a genuine reason, irrespective of the kind of bike RE is, in quality or other attributes...
Yes, they knew what they're paying for, but that's not their complaint. They paid for the exclusivity which they'll be losing.
They paid 80k more, only for a 500cc engine, instead of 350cc, while losing out on ABS... The design language being roughly the same, with minor differences.

Suppose, Audi makes a 12L car with a smaller 1.2L engine, and roughly the same design as earlier cars, won't the existing owners object?

We've seen both the engines before, and the price difference shouldn't be this much. Not to mention ABS.

I find it unfair as the customers pay 80k extra for the limited edition tag and then after few months, RE launches Signal models which look similar to the Pegasus in all manner except that the cheaper 350 signal comes with ABS for public. In other words, no limited numbers on sale. So a person riding the 350 signal in traffic might be looked up as a limited edition bike owner. Not that many know about it.

Lets not talk about 500cc blah blah bullshit. This should have been well thought of by RE.
They could have launched the 350 range of models with ABS and not look anything like the Pegasus to maintain the exclusivity of the product Atleast!

So apparently an owner has "allegedly" dumped his Pegasus at a garbage site. Theres only a picture, but to me it seems like a publicity stunt.

So I have a 2015 Desert Storm which has been my daily driver. Who can stop me if I want to repaint it to with the Pegasus insignia and the stenciled number on the tank. Will the existing P500 owners sue me ? Or is there something different in the RC book for which RTO can fine me?

As per many esteemed forum members I'm a RE poser boy any way , now I will be promoted to a fake RE poser boy.

See my friend, that is upto to get it repainted or not. But that isnt the question here. They pay a premium for the Limited Edition and then in few months, launch a cheaper similar looking 350 in a signal variant! What is so limited about the Limited Edition if you have the public riding the similar looking bike with an additional feature.

Anyways, it is none of my concern i dont have own any limited edition bike anyway.
