  • any clue as to when the delivery is starting in Mumbai..........though they told me a waiting period of 2 months
seem to losing sleep on the waiting period

    • Sad to see that many havent received the bike yet !
I was spared by any ill luck and collected my bike at 4 pm today. The delivery process was fabulous and the showroom guys were pretty good.

They had a protocol of what all was to be explained to the customer during the delivery and they did that fabulously.

I think the showroom guys are as helpless as what we are when it comes to updates. If the they dont get any updates from bajaj all they can do is speculate and go wrong in their speculation. I would not blame the showroom..but ofcourse its easy for me to say as i have already gotten the bike. My verdict however still stands : Pune PBK was excellent ( at least to me )

I rode 140 kms today since 4 pm and it just rocked the roads beyond oblivion. Still in the engine run in phase ofcourse, so didnt open
the throttle much. But with only 1/4th of the throttle opened the bike felt like a true SBK.

Bah...i think I will sleep in my garage today. Uploading pics in the ownership experience thread !

        That's awesome man! Congrats...
140km in a day huh? Neat... What gear/speed are you riding in to keep it below 4000 rpm - are you riding in a higher gear to keep the revs low? I reckon thats the only way to keep the speed up, provided you are riding on a plain...

Dude that story is pretty sad. Its nearly impossible to keep it under 4K
Firstly 6th gear in 4k feels like the thing is slightly knocking.
Secondly 6th gear in 4K got me up only till 60 kmph.
Thirdly the temptation to open the throttle a little more is HUGE as you feel the Ninja brewing power underneath its hood at around 6K itself.

I aint a follower of motoman method to break in the engine either.
I follow the 4k limit as much as possible occasionally opening up the throttle.

for the 140 Km that I rode today 23 km were in the city of Pune. Evening traffic was terrible for the bike i believe as the needle was perrenially in the upper half of the temperature display. It bothered me a while as it was very close to the red area but once outside the city it was perfect.
The only care i took was to not to maintain same RPM. I did go till 6 k and ONCE to 8 K but went on changing RPMs and also indulged in some minor engine braking. Having done this about 10 times I halted the bike for about 10 mins and repeated the process.

I cant be arsed too much about the 4 k limit as its just plain impossible for me to ride 800 kms in a restricted manner.

I thought the 4th might be the sweet spot for the 4000 rpm without knocking the engine... And the motoman methods sounds a bit extreme, it is always better to keep the revs low initially. The occasional 5-6k should not be a problem, I think.

            Where are them pictures?

I aint gonna redline the bike ofc. ( incase anyone is getting the ideas that i aint loving my bike enough )

Now the pics are real bad. It was my friend clicking em and he goofed up clicking me more often than the bike. Will soon post only bike pics
Man if you are more 5'10" or more, I'd really recommend one of these :
                    Woodcraft Technologies Inc. :: Ninja 250 Clip-ons 08+ (12-4537)

Makes a hell of a lot of difference in handling and you can attack the corners with much greater ease. It'll also give you proper sports bike feel.
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

But the Ninja 250R just wont let me sleep..so what the hell..i might as well post about it. My first days ride has ended many hours ago but I am still reeling under the after effects of this bike.

During the waiting phase of the bike I was gobbling up Ninja matter over the web like a catastrophic virus. I came accross many articles/reviews which spoke about the 250R s special ability to inspire and induce confidence in you. Back then when i read these lines I never really understood as to what that feeling can be. Such things sounded much like what a Fanboy would say !
But hell this bike really is so very confidence inspiring !! its unbelievable how fast I could gel with it. Its handling really is awesome and it gathers speed at an alarming rate. The traffic ( which was a plenty in the evening ) didnt pose any problems to this 172 Kg (?) bike either.

I aint too experienced with bikes. I have always had a passion for fine machines but I somehow was only attracted to cars, untill now.
Nearing 6K to 8K you really start to feel that theres gonna be a big boom underneath the fairing. The engine seems to be bracing itself up for the maximum oncoming onslaught of power delivery.
I didnt take it beyond 8 K due to the engine run in mess (even 8 K was achieved only once when I wished to overtake a speeding car at the old Pune Mumbai highway. To my surprise i did it with relative ease. When I looked at my Speedo i was doing 100, and didnt even realise that the car I was overtaking was in my rear view.
Not advocating high speeds but just wanting to make a note of the easy highway cruising ability of this bike too.

It really is a compact SBK with a serious enough power for our conditions and it wont be an exaggeration to say it has serious enough power for ANY conditions. All the reviews make perfect sense to me now.

Gotta catch some sleep if I gotta do any serious engine break in tomorrow

                        Ciao
is this your first ever bike? cherish it. that feeling will last forever no matter how many bigger bikes you ride in future.
