    • The actual price looks like a well guarded secret. Else, it would have been out on forums by now. PBK guys are speculating just like us.....

All of you please do some research, think and then post.
Sunny, your post is misleading. I hope you are aware that this is not the way pricing is done.!!! Anyways, let me explain in your terms. The same carb version was available in US in 2008 for 3499 $ and now the same bike is available in US for 3999~4039$.

Even considering the current exchange rates along with the price for the 2009 carb model, then the bike should cost 1.92 Lacs INR. This 1.92 lacs is including of shipping from Thai to US and also the hefty dealer margin (US dealers do make a large margin in bikes).
Now considering a 22.5 % import duty for spares, it comes somewhere 43 K. Hence the price of the bike with tax should be 2.34 Lacs.

The above calculation does not include the fact that there is an FTA bwn India and Thailand. Also distance between India and Thailand is 3000 Km and distance between Thailand and US is 13000Km approx. Hence the shipping cost from Thailand to India should be less by 4 times than to US.

If you consider a 2008 model the price of the bike can be MAX 2.1 Lac. I hope you are aware that there is no difference between the 2008 and 2009 model. That is what I believe

Did anyone ever wonder how Kinetic brought in the Comet in CBU mode and yet priced it for 1.8 Laks ? ?I am still wondering.

              • Got some genuine news from a Bajaj insider (who was directly caming from Bajaj training for Ninja):

                1. The bike features Fi (no carb).
                2. 3L OTR price tag.
                3. Only green and black colors available.
                4. Will be serviced only at select service centers (1 in each metro/big city)
                5. The bike does not have any kind of Bajaj sticker on it.
                6. It will be a SKU (semi knocked-down unit) from Thailand (and not a CKU).
                7. Bikes will be displayed in Pune, Delhi and Chennai first (or already on display). Delivery will be made by October end for these cities. Second batch of cities will be Mumbai, Bangalore and maybe Kolkata where the bike will be made available (delivery) by next year start.

Hope this news turns out to be true .

EDIT: The bike has IRC tyres.

Well, 2010 Ninja 250R, eh? Interesting. That explains the black exhaust and the black rear underseat, and also the availability of only Lime green and Ebony. And if I am correct, the grandpa analog clocks on the dash has been replaced on the 2010 version with a more modern looking set of gauges, which includes a digital/LCD one. This might explain the launch in delay from May to October - they were waiting for the 2010 version to hit the production floor.

                            Nice find, guys.
