Default Flickr and xBhp Ride with the Finalists in Delhi

Flickr and xBhp reached its final stages of two month long competition to select the best rider and photographer to ride in Australia along with the Motographer.

xBhp and Flickr came together to create a concept called Flickr Rides. The idea was to bring together the two things we so love, biking and photography. Flickr Rides was a chance for bikers who love travelling, biking and photography to showcase their talent to the community and the world at large on the wonderful photo sharing site of Flickr. The pictures could be of people, landscapes or anything that caught the imagination of the artist within the biker, these photographs were uploaded onto the Flickr Rides Group and the best among the group were selected for final shootout!

The concept of Flickr Rides was kept simple, just like our motorcycles. One had to join the group and start uploading their best pictures there. Since, photographers could have thousands of amazingly clicked pictures, therefore, Flickr provided each user with 1TB of space! So there should be no end to the awesomeness that these photographers produced.

The response was amazing as thousands of members signed up and uploaded fantastic photographs clicked by them, covering a plethora of themes and styles, which showcased the diverse creativity of the contestants. These pictures were then judged by a panel of expert photographers. Who had a difficult time in choosing the finalists as the quality in the competition was at a level beyond excellence. 20 finalists were shortlisted after the marathon search by the judging panel and 9 of those twenty congregated in Delhi on the 14th of December early in the morning to take part in the final shootout.

The Delhi finalists were given a variety of themes, based on which they had to click their award winning shots. The riders were given phones, from which they were sent on the mission of capturing Delhi in their lenses. The finalists were briefed at Revv Cafe and were flagged of from Qutab Minar. The landmark itself provided some beautiful photographs to the contestants. More than a contest, this allowed the riders to express their love for photography. The day was spent travelling through the by-lanes of Delhi in the quest to capture the masterpiece. At the end of the day, the photographers handed over their work for the day to the Flickr-xBhp team who will be judging the photographs of this day. One of these lucky contestants will get a once in a lifetime chance of a fully paid motorcycle trip in Australia along with Sundeep Gajjar, the Motographer.

On Sunday, bikers from various clubs and groups along with Delhi xBhpians gathered at the xBhp Dhaba, from where the group of motorcyclists rode down to Hotel Mapple, where the finalists were felicitated and their submitted work was exhibited. The finalists got a chance to share their experiences and inspirations infront of a packed house, as Sunny gave tips on travel photography and GODS founder Dr. Arun Thareja wished the contestants for a chance to ride a superbike in Australia.

Results of who is the top photographer among the best will be announced soon after the ride in Bangalore scheduled for the 21st-22nd of December. So stay tuned for the final results of Flickr Rides.
