Default Half a Dream come true !!!

14th September, 2 o’clock in the afternoon, my cousin brother who owns a HONDA VFR 750 called me on my cell, and asked me if I was free. I had just finished my pracs and was ready to go back home. I told him I was free and was in my college, on which he asked me to wait near my college gate, as he had some work with his bike and wanted me to accompany him so that we could come back on my bike. I didn’t know he was referring to his 750, I thought I would b his CBZ or the P180, I said ok, and waited for him. After around 15 mins he came, making the huge roar of that V-Four engine.Coolio, so we were heading for the SBK mechanic….

I told him that I wanted to ride the bike, on which he agreed. So down I went on the first gear and off went, with the college public still looking at the tails of the VFR and the CBZ. Finally through the undisciplined traffic of Pune, we reached the mechanic shop, which was in the interiors of the city. The chief mechanic with two helpers was working on a 1999 CBR 1000R. We welcomed me and my bro with a cup of coffee, and asked us to leave the bike for 3 days. While having the coffee I asked him how much the CBR 1000R costs, on which he answered “ Around 4.5 for the second hand bike ( of course ).” I asked him which one was faster, the R1 or the CBR ? R1 he said. Then I told him that even I was planning to go for a “ BIGGGG” bike. He asked me the budget, I told him that I hadn’t decided on that yet. Then he asked me if I wanted to have a look at the bikes ? And the answer was a big YES.

He took me to his garage which was behind his mechanic shop. It had a remote controlled shutter which smoothly opened after he took out the remote from his pocket. MAN WAS I AMAZED SO SEE THE CONTENTS !!!!With my eyes wide open, I went in with him and my bro. He had around 7-10 bikes and a big car…., all under sheets. He took of the first sheet, under it was a 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1000 – 4.5 lakhs. He took of the second sheet, a 1996 CBR 600 – 3.75 lakhs. Then a 2000 Honda Steed VTX 1200 – 5.5 L, a Harley Davidson Fat-Boy – 8 L , a 2001 CBR 900 RR Fireblade – 5 L, a 2000 Yamaha R6 – 4.25 L, 2000 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R – 4.5 L, a 200 VFR 800 Interceptor – 6 L, and he did not take off the last two covers, nor the cover on the car.
Then with a very small voice I asked him, can I have a test ride ? And man, I thank my stars, the answer was YES !!!!!

He did not give me all the bikes for a test run, but I got to drive the CBR 900, 600 and the R6.

    CBR 900 :

His helper got the bike out of the garage. I sat on it and then my bro. I started the bike, and it was very smooth, it sounded so refined…went for a small ride and came back.

    CBR 600 :

Being the 1996 model is was not that smooth. Its was a hell lot smoother than our “bikes”, but not as smooth as the 900. Took a small ride on that too. Even that was awesome. It felt lighter than the 900 and the handling felt smoother than the 900.

    Yam R6 :

This is one hell of a bike !!! The handling is unmatched. It feels so light and fast, just blew away my brains man.

Then I went back to garage and told him what a wonderful experience it was, I said that the bike are real fast !!! He looked at me and my bro and smiled, and said, “ U think that’s fast ? Want to see something faster ? “ He went in and removed the sheets off the lat two bikes….he actually unveiled the fastest road bikes !!!! The Hayabusas. A 2000 and a 2002 model. The 2000 model was a Black one and the 2002 was a Silver one.

He said want to drive one of these ? I said “ Both of these, if u don’t mind.” He agreed, and gave me the keys of the silver one, the 2002 model. I put in the keys and gave it a twist, F U C K !!! The bike actually checks all the instruments on the instrument panel, just like the R6 did, but this looked a lot sexier. I started the bike, and man…it sounds so wonderful, 4 cylinder in-line, and u can feel it I the firing roaring. This time he himself sat behind me, and asked me to release the clutch very slowly. I did just that, because the bike just pulls away from u on releasing the throttle. We went for a small ride, While returning to his garage, we came in through a very small lane. There was a cycle walla in front of me , I gave him the honk 2 time but he was not moving at all, he was in his own mood. So I just revved a bit hard, and that was it, the man just stopped and looked behind to know what the sound was all about, and he just opened his eyes WIDE. We returned to the garage. Then I asked him abt the price, and ****, it was cheap !!! 6.5 lakhs !!!! Then he himself said that I should try the black Hayabusa.

So again he got the bike out from the garage. Again I followed all the procedures, and when I ignited the fuel, it roared !!! it was not a bit like the other bikes, it was not soft, it was huge and loud. It had only one silencer, with both the exhaust tubes fitted into one BIG Yoshimura Exhaust. He said, that this bike was actually faster in low-end than the other Busa. So I just revved in to 3500 rpm in 1st gear. And believe me the throttle was just twisted to around 4-5mm. Then slowly I started releasing the clutch, and when it was released a bit more than 2/3rd, I let it go, and **** the front wheel was up in the air. And down it came very stably, without any noise from the forks / suspension. He asked me to be nice with this beast, as it keeps on doing this stuff from time to time. Then slowly we started going, he told me that we could have a longer run this time. Ok I said, and we went on to the main road. Then we were at a signal near the Pune Station. I went and stopped beside a P180. I was a little behind him, so he was not able to see the dashboard. The pillion said to the rider “ Chaila, kuthli gadi modify keli ahe ? Bari keli ahe, pan magcha silencer chapri lavla ahe, kiti awwaj kartoy “ ( Meaning : Which vehicle has this guy modified ? Its ok, but what a ****ed up silencer, its making to much noise ). Man, how can u cal a Hayabusa, a modified bike ? Anyway, I had to turn left for a long cement road patch near Hotel Le Meridian, so as soon as it was green, I went off, and all that I could hear in background was “****”, “F U C K “….and stuff like that. The Le Meridian road is a long and mostly empty cement road patch. I was raising the throttle slowly and slowly, but the speed was like going up very quickly. Then I saw a Yamaha RX100, a CBZ and a black P150 racing on the same road, I just said to myself, “blow them off” and that’s what I did, just zoomed past them and looked in the mirrors, they had all forgotten abt their own race and were just gaining their senses as to what went past them. Then I just smiled to myself and look at the Speedo, and to my horror, I was doing a 170+ and was just in 4th gear. **** I just left the throttle, and slowly the speed started coming down, and then I did not take it above 80 at all. That was fast….real fast. We returned back, then I talked to him abt the bikes, and it was time to go back home. Then I took out the keys of the CBZ and gave them to my bro, I asked him to drive back, cause the CBZ was feeling too small, and too light, and yes too slow. Its was half a dream come true, I finally drove the fastest production bike, now the dream will only be completed after I buy one….

You are one lucky guy. Anyways u said its "Half a dream come true". The dream related to speed(170kmph .....almost half the top speed of the busa) or ownership(rode one .....but would love to own one)....lol...If its the speed part then 1/4 of my dreams have come true(160 on a busa...pillion).
A ride of a 2000 model busa. It was obviously a non-restricted version, wasnt it?
    One hell of a Superbike day u've had. From a 600cc to a 1300cc.
BTW, why was he selling the the 2002 model for such a low price???

Don't know, why they r so cheap, but all his bikes have reasonable rates. The rates of the same bikes in Mumbai were sky high at Bachoo's.
And half the dream come true is because I drove 2 busas, but don;t own 1 yet.

Sorry NAV, really sorry. Even Ricci was pissed of with me cause I did not call him to, but u see, even I did not know that we were going to the SBK mechanic, till my bro came up. And we did not go to Bunty, the guy behind CCD in camp. We went to a guy called Akram. You want to come down again ? My bro got his bike yesterday. But if u want, we can go there, just give me a call, meet me somewhere and we'll go. But can't promise u anything about seeing the bikes / test rides. U'll b able to see all the bikes that have come for servicing though. Whether he open his godown, is a question. If u want call me right now, and we can decide.
