    Default Day 16: Hyderabad

Bangalore to Hyderabad is great distance when you look at it on the map, but once you start riding on that amazing highway, the distances disappear. Beautiful smooth traffic-free tarmac awaited the team. The Bangalore xBhpians were probably quite tired of the team and so they made sure that the team left by riding 100 km out of the city and ensuring that nobody turned back!

But jokes apart, it was good to have Suvrajit, Sauban, Ashish ride down and lead the way out of the crowded IT city. They led the ThankYouRide Team till Kamaat where everyone had a good breakfast before the team moved on to Hyderabad while the rest turned back home. The team made good time as the roads were butter smooth and perfect for racking up the miles and reaching Hyderabad in time for the G2G scheduled at 4 PM in Gundipet at Movie Towers.

But the story of the tortoise and the hare was what eventually happened, as an overtly long and extremely delicious lunch slowed down everyone and ensured that the team reached the Hyderabad outskirts behind schedule. But there were three xBhpians waiting to help speed things up, Krishna, Sri Harsha and Yogesh were waiting in the terribly hot sun patiently for a couple of hours to ensure that the team made its way straight to the meeting point. At the start of the Outer Ring Road of Hyderabad Col. Kaleem was also waiting with a few more xBhpians to direct the team to the G2G point. Unfortunately, bikes are not allowed on the ORR in Hyderabad and therefore the service road had to be used. This further slowed down everybody as the narrow roads with countless speed breakers were not conducive to a group of bikes making good time.

Finally as the sun was setting the entourage reached Gundipet to finally meet a patiently waiting bunch of bikers of the city. They were kind enough to have waited without complaint in the hot Hyderabadi sun to meet and greet the team. After a brief introduction, everybody hurried for the group photo as the sun was disappearing and this memory needed to be captured. After the group pictures were taken it was time to say thanks to the bikers of Hyderabad! Kaleem sir was the first person to be thanked for his fantastic contribution to motorcycling in the country and xBhp in Hyderabad. The other xBhpians who were thanked for their continuous contribution over the years were Kiran Borra, Krishna Prasad, Krishna Chaitanya, Ravi Verma, Kiran P, Riaz Momin, Prabhakar Rao, Kaushik, Dhiraj, Jacob Raj, Sri Harsha Madineni and Abhishek Bhatt. Unfortunately many of the old time xBhpians were unable to make it for the G2G, though their contribution over the years cannot for a moment be forgotten.

A wonderful evening came to an end for the team, it was fantastic to meet the Hyderabadi bikers. The love and affection is what made a tiring day such as that well worth the effort put in. Everybody looked forward to the next days ride to Vijaywada on some more fantastic highways of the state, as the team would be leaving South India. The good roads were also to come to an end!

Pelting it was. Pelting nuts and bolts off your bike because you were riding above 20kmph more likely.
