Should be an error during Smart card update. RX135 was not launched during 96.
My RXG smart card has RX100 printed.

That's an Indonesian Rx-king block. I've seen these doing round on RX100 club pages on Facebook along with other Rx-king parts. If you are looking to buy this bike I'd say stay away as that block isn't the only mod on the bike I'm sure and you might end up footing the bill for someone else's performance ambitions.

oh no it is my own bike i removed the 4tl original block and its head for safekeeping and to act as a template for porting/boring future other blocks. This one I got it from an importer and had just used it as a placeholder along with the flower head.

As I mainly use the vehicle for commuting and the occasional trail riding I did not find any difference between these parts and the originals, well apart that these new ones can be replaced more easily.,

    Default rx 135 - 4s throttle problem

Hi everyone, myself mahesh from chennai. I have got a '98 yamaha rx 135 - 4s (about 7 months back) in bangalore since I am working as a software developer there. I am the second owner. Before making purchase I have gone through a particular thread by karthikduttag which says about the cylinder block info, carb info, chassis no details and so on which greatly helped me in finding this bike. After a bit of struggle with the owner who had a problem of giving me the bike before name transfer, I got my hands on her finally. I have done the usual servicing which includes:

    1. changing engine oil
    2. replacing throttle cable, break shoes, foam air filter
    3. cleaning the silencer (which I think was not cleaned forever), carburettor, petrol tank.
    4. new muffler
    5. new front and back tyres (front 2.75*18 ceat , back 3.25*16 mrf)
    6. new rim for front wheel (gabriel)

Am not using oil pump, running on the pre-mix ratio of 35ml to 1ltr.
I haven't touched the engine, electricals yet.
Now, coming to the problem at hand - Please excuse me if the way I describe it is funny.
The bike runs fine without problem from gears 2 - 4 essentially at high rev ranges. But the moment I stop at traffic and try to move down first gear the bike just goes off like what happens in a cold start even though the bike is hot enough.
Everytime when i just clean the main jet , adjust air screw, this problem seems to vanish but comes again.

So, before keeping my hands on engine/going to a mechanic, I just wanted to know the members info/input on this. What scenarios might cause this and probable solutions for various causes. Please help me with this fellow members. Thanks in advance.

I have attached some pics of her before tyre change.(Sorry for lighting)

This was the solution I found which is working for me as of now. I used to pull choke when I start the bike for the first time in morning always. Considering Bangalore's climate during the month of jan- feb early morning. Am in my native(Chennai) now since this corona issue started and I have gone out of habit for pulling choke. The bike seems to be rid of the problem now atleast could have drove for 500kms to say this.

My question is directed particularly at RX users. Please add your experience.

The stock tyre size was 2.5*18 at front and 2.75*18 at rear.

In recent times due to unavailability of 2.5*18 tyre sizes, most would go for 2.75*18 at front and 3*18 at rear.

I am actually running 2.75*18 at front and 3.25*16 rear. --> Will this cause any issue with braking and stability?

I met with a minor skid accident actually few months back. It began to rain while I was riding, it was slow moving traffic, I remember very well I didn't use the rear brakes only the front but my rear wheel slided a bit for the first I managed to keep it under control. But the second time when I put front breaks the rear got skid way off and I fell. I was wearing protective jacket and helmet so nothing major happened.

So I wanted to ask the RX riders who use this combo of tyres if they had any bad experiences ??

Also are the 2.75 and 3 - 18 combo is the best to go??

    Thanks.

I'm occasional riding my dad's '88 RX-100 using 2.75*18 at the front and 3.00*18 at the back since 2014, original setup was 2.50*18 on front and 2.75*18 at the rear. Regarding any issues faced till now is nil except for little drop in fuel economy & benefit is better handling. Slipping issue you faced could be because of wrong tyre pressure, had that kind experience once when free air attendant at fuel pump filled like 40 psi at rear and 36 at front . Try sticking to stock psi or could increase or decrease one or two point.
