I am unable to adjust the throttle free play by adjusting the nut, what could be the cause for that?

Is your throttle cable routed properly? It should come out from the side right above the indicator stay and not the meter plate

Tightening and loosening the nut doesn't make any difference in the freeplay. I just checked it, the cable is coming on top of the speedo. So does it have to come from the side? Haven't noticed this before

Yes it has to come from the side, if it is routed near the speedo you won't get the correct freeplay

Default Rusting on the mud guards

Just noticed that the mud guards are rusting from inside and slight rusting on the top, gonna paint it black from inside and on the top will use a emery paper to remove the rust and will paint it silver.
