Once it is done and I ride the bike without any problems, then I'll consider the project as good, hell even great. Right now it is a pain in the neck. Treat, sure! If I don't get ripped off. Slim chance of that, so cross my fingers.

This is a story about this bike.
I used to sit on the tank as a kid, with my father riding the bike and going for long drives. It was so thrilling to be seated there, listening to the sound of the engine and knowing that a slight twist of the throttle could take you to a place where you zipped past the rest of the world. Simply put it is just transcendental.

Speaking of transcendent things, I had just got my permanent license (I was green about riding bikes) and used to accelerate in the 3rd gear (I mean like red line it) before shifting into top gear, I dont know if others have experienced this feeling that I am going to talk about. In the X-men movie when Wolverine steals Scott Summers bike and presses the button, and the bike goes into hyper mode. I could relate to that scene because, to me, it felt just like that.
(Disclaimer: The road was a broad closed one with no pedestrians or animals. I do not advocate indulging in rash driving. Drive responsibly)

I learnt riding a bike on my Jawa. The first time I sat on the driver's seat with the engine on, I rode it like that was the sole purpose that I was born for. The bike and me were one. No jerky starts and no engine stalls, nothing. And mind you the bike was a CB point start that time.

I have since had it made electronic a.k.a. CDI. There was a transition time for this bike, where the mechanic had done a mishmash of things and half of it was 6V like Jawa and the remaining was 12V. It was standing on its stand due to an issue with the CDI unit, lack of time and the lack of dedication by the mechanic for years till last May, when I didn't let go till he got the bike started again.

Then began the story with the R.T.O. work. Well that is a story for another time. For the time being, I received some photos from my mechanic via the messaging app and I am updating with the same. Kindly excuse the photo quality.

    Minor update.
Some progress on the assembly front. One wheel is done. The other expected by tuesday. Wiring planned to be done tomorrow. Hopefully by Wednesday should hear the bike start. I have a pic or two more. But the fun is the wait too. I can say that now that it is drawing to a close. The touch up n line painting to be done once bike is up and running.

Work in progress. Need a Old Jawa tail light, ceat tyre, original Tank cap. The last two are not much of a problem. Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Yup rxfan. It is a very special bike. Lots of memories attached to it.

A few more updates since last time.
Good news first. The bike started in the first kick. It is slightly more complete than it was earlier. Got the guitar seat and chain cover. Couldn't source the round one.

Bad news Fuel tank has sprung pin holes . Getting it back by Wednesday or Thursday evening.
Tail lamp still has an issue with availability. Ceat tyres not available. Will look out for dunlop a.k.a. falcon tyres. or similar.

    Apologies for the picture quality.
