Default my first solo ride. delhi-bangalore

    hello all..

atlast i made it. me and my fz all the way from gurgaon to bangalore (kormangla). took me an entire month to research and get ready for the entire trip.. anyways after a huge amount of hardship and struggle.
    Day 1(half day)
started of from delhi late by 12pm on 5th april. filled up the petrol tank and tyres with nitrogen. went straight to jaipur. then to ajmer and directly to bewal. (i guess i spelled it right). halted for the night there. reached bewal by 8 pm. fixed to get up and leave bewal by 4 am.. woke up at 3:30am, dressed up and went down to pack by bags on the bike. all of a sudden two cops came in. they wanted to search me in and out. since i knew i was all clear helped them with the search. they frisked me and went through each and eveything in my bag, documents, laptop, mobile etc. thank god there wasnt anything to get through me. once they left the hotel people told me that all they wanted was get hold of something and rip me with money.. hmmm.. left bewal at 5:00. thanx to the cops.
    Day 2
covered udaipur and reached ahmedabad exactly at 1 pm.. now here is the twist. journey from ahmedabad to vadodara is pretty confusing. u will not be able to travel through the express highway since all knows that two wheelers are not allowed. hence u need to take a route away form the highways through the interiors where not much people will be able to help you. though u can ask help from the trucks or mini lorry guys. from ahmedabad u need to go straight towards the express highway, to the left u will see the express highway. but you need to go straight. after half a kilometer u will reach a circle where u need to take a left. from here dont ask for vadodara, ask for either nadia or anand. guess anand is a familiar place name to all since the big boss of milk products amul is located here. please remember to refuel and dont wait for the last minute. because you will only find 2 good fuel stations on this 70 kms plus route. you will reach one more circle where you need to take the second left exit for nadia. reaching nadia you will see an essar petrol pump to your left. this means that you have reached the highway 8. after the gas station you will need to take a left to the highway. now you can vroom all the way directly to anand(though you will not reach the town of anand) and then off to mumbai.

the road here is four lane but does not have a divider. so take care of oncoming vehicles. i was travelling the entire route on an average speed of 80 kms. the bike was smooth and delivered optimum performance. once you are nearly 150 km near to mumbai the route changes altogether. this in terms of the road condition and surroundings. it is pretty empty, it looks like a forest and the road is not at all smooth. since i reached this place late night around 10:00 pm, my attempt was to look for lodging. it took me more than an hour to cover 50 kms and reach a safe and neat hotel where i slept the night off. the next day was small since i had to meet my friend at pune and i knew that mumbai pune is not that long and harsh.
    Day3
i left my hotel at 7 am and reached the signal before thane. i am not sure of the place name. here you will cross a bridge and reach a signal immediately where you can find the hotel fountain. from this signal you need to take a right to reach thane. when asked for the route people had suggested to go through thane since the other way is long in distance and the road condition was not good. hence i took the ride through the city to reach panvel.

here is the next wonderful experience i had. i went straigh into the city traffic, with my kerala registration bike, all dirty, with leg protectors tough gloves and two huge bags on the rear seat. seeing this i guess most of the bikers came to me and asked where i was from and where to i was heading. during the signal stops i had tell me trip in brief to around 15 bikers. i had people sitting in autos and cars looking at the leg protectors in amuse. i was feeling great of myself.. haha.. mumbaikars where really helpful in explaining the route to reach panvel very clearly, that a few didnt even mind fleeing from me even when the traffic signal turned green. there are a couple of turns that you need to take from thane to panvel. it is strongly suggestable to ask as many people as you can. reaching panvel you will need to take a right from a t-shaped road. then you will be able to manage the route till pune yourself. again in pune you will not be able to epress highway. but you really do get 10mins of the express highway. here you can notice that the zooming car guys look at you as if your an alien. but anyways i prefer to take my bike away from the highways since its boring. i prefer the ghats. this is where the fz shows her true skills. the best part is that i did get a couple of kilometers of ghat. i really enjoyed each and every curve of the road. it was heaven.

reached pune by 2pm, called my friend and we met. the emotional part here is that we both first met during our eighth grade. that means from 1997 to 2004 we were good friends. but all of a sudden due a small misunderstanding from my end, we had to part.he had contacted me a couple of times and due to my ego, i just ignored him. but then he did do one more attempt and this is when i realized my mistake. i called him up just before reaching pune and informed him of my arrival after 6 long years. he was really thrilled to hear me coming in. he gladly invited me to his home and i spent that entire evening and the entire next day with him and his family. it was really a glad moment for us. this is where my trip was complete mentally and worth the effort. on monday morning i started from pune and headed for bangalore which was around 850 kms.
    Day 4
started from pune at 7:30 and reached bangalore at 10:30 pm. now i have a creepy feeling of going ahead for the saddle sore.. wat say guys? again the entire journey was done at a maximum speed of 90 km/hr since i didnt want to end up in the middle of nowhere.

entire journey distance was 2400 kms. cost of petrol was 3300 rs.
other maintenance for the bike: nil.
preparations on my bike: bought a new pirelly sd rear tyre. castrol 20w50 engine oil and a new air filter.
for the trip: rope to tie the bags, leg protectors, gloves, a philips music player, medicines (volini spray, paracetamol, and two more medicines for stomach troubles and gas issues, glucose powder),
the best time in the complete journey was when i was in pune with my friend
funniest moment: when i spilled an entire packet of glucose in my bag. it went inside my laptop as well.. my mistake.
the worst moment: i accidentally rode over spilled oil at a speed of 80. i was only able to make it out that it was oil when we were in a distance of 10 meters. the spill was huge and nearing the end of the spill the bike started loosing grip. but thank god that i covered the spill before loosing entire control.
vote of thanks, to my friends Rithuraj(Delhi), Yogesh(Delhi), Praveen (the guy in Pune) Shinu(bangalore) and avinash(bangalore) Dr. Jayant Arora (Columbia Asia Hospital, Palam Vihar). sincere thanks goes to all the people told who told me that i was out of my mind when i was planning on this trip. because of them i was able to make my mind stronger.

    Default thank you all

to be frank ( i dont know if anyone wud believe me or not) i dont have any back ache or any issues with my body after the entire trip. as for me, i didnt at all mind taking rest whenever i felt to. i had pain with my knees while riding, but since i had volini, i used to stop and spray them on my knees. wait for 10-15mins and then go ahead.
indeed the reunion was the only reason of selecting the pune route over the nagpur route. i didnt at mind travelling 300kms extra to meet him..

Although I appreciate the write up, I felt that the log was more of a description of the route than the experience.

Please add on some more information about the route, stays, food and the likes
