    Day 10th:
Leh-pathar sahib- magnetic hill- kargil- drass
    Distance covered: 300 kms(approx)
    THROUGH HEAVEN THE KASHMIR VALLEY

6:30 am was the time we bid good bye to the owner of the dreamland hotel and the LEH CITY!!!
Bags packed, engines running and within few minutes we were on our machines riding through the city that is almost sleeping.
Cool morning breeze and we were enjoying the city for the final time, it was an experience of a lifetime to spend the last week in this valley. And when on the leh-srinagar highway we were experiencing some of the best tarmac roads of the COUNTRY. Through the sandy valley going a tarmac track but our bikes were not going above 80-90kmph still within an hour or so.
    We reached here:

    GURUDWARA SHRI PATHAR SAHIB:

After having hot tea with milk rusk and coming out of the gurudwara sahib, this is what was running in my mind, NANAK HILL

I was thinking whether to do it or not , looked at dagar, bhaai mere bas ki nahi hai tune jaana hai to chale jaa, aneja ji was already sitting on the chair mere se mat poochio bhaai.
I dnt knw when I will come to this place again so, made up my mind!!!
Reaching the top was one hell of a task, number of breaks, catching breath and going up..
It Took 20minutes of HARD work but yesss I am on THE TOP!!!

And it was worth the hard sweat-y climb
Spend few minutes at the top and came back.
I cant believe I have done it, almost 1400 steps(700 each side) but yes NOW I AM SATISFIED.
And within minutes we started our journey towards magnetic hill
Its nothing but a way of fooling tourists sitting in the car, they dont come out and see that the road is going down, its obvious that it will move on its own.
    MAGNETIC HILL

    ENROUTE:

After few shots we moved ahead through villages, breakfast was the call now but we could not see any dhaba serving something other than fried chole bhatures.
We kept on riding till we find a dhaba enroute and had tasty paranthas with chaai.
The truckers sitting there told us when we can cross zozilla and other details about the roads ahead. After a chit-chat session, we were back on the bikes and riding till we saw menon saab wasnt visible in the rvms. The group is now waiting and he was nowhere seen 10, 15, 20 minutes and he was nowhere seen, asked a car coming from that side and he told us that some biker is standing there with tools in his hands  shitt.!!! And we turned back, rode few metres when we saw him coming, his exhaust almost fell down so he was just tightening it phewww.
The group riding and the roads were getting worse.

And this is what bro say: so true.

From bad roads to worse and to the BEST we were climbing and though because of the construction work it was pebbled roads, muddy everywhere but we were enjoying the beauty of the place, very high mountains and we are in between them riding, a sight to remember throughout our lives.
From pebbled roads to hairpin bends and twists we reached lamayuru. Just a few shots and we continued the ride enjoying every bit of it.

And then we reach this point it says:
THE HIGHEST POINT IN LEH-SRINAGAR ROAD
    FOTULA TOP

Dont know may be because we have seen very high passes or what this one doesnt looks like a PASS.
Just a butt break here with few shots and we were on the saddles again.
Roads going down and then up, we were like bathing in mud and suddenly we saw this!!!
    NAMIKALA
ARE BHAIYA PASSES AISE KAB SE HO GAE!!!

This is what we were wondering and laughing standing at this LA
Seriously the passes of leh-srinagar road are opposite of the ones in leh-manali highway.
A road blocked in between and they were clearing it, traffic jam..but when on bikes we are not used to stand at a place then whatll be the difference between a cage and a bike
Finally we managed to get ourselves out of that jam and now we were ahead of others waiting at the back.

Nevertheless we were riding again into the muddiest tracks of the country, feeling the heat as if we are riding in our city. Mud, mud and more mud is what was there so, no cameras out just ride till we reach the destination for today KARGIL suddenly my bike was having some problem, the horn wasnt working and so were the indicators, I tried to push it many times in between but no response.. kargil was the place I need to reach asap.
Reached this WAR CITY asked few locals and they told me where I could get a mechanic, he opened the side cover, not a big problem the battery connection was loose and came off a new connecting pin and it was done
    Relieved now. 
The team was confused whether to stay here or move ahead as it was 4:30and drass is almost 60kms from kargil, the mechanic said bhaiyaa jaa sakte ho agar jaana hai to jaldi nikal jaao.
But we have t search for a atm and after we entered the city, the locals were looking us as if we are terrorists or criminals, somw were watching us and talking dont knw what.
Man I dont want to stay in this city.
Me : saif bhai yahaan ni ruknaa, aage chalo dekhi jaegi.
Saif bhai: yeah, we still have few hours befor the sun breaks down.
The atm work done and we bid good bye to this scary city.
Through small infact very small village type roads with river running along with us we reached this point.
    THEY seriously can see us..!!!

Now we dont have to stop till we reach drass, as the place we were riding is not considered SAFE.
I must say that kargil to drass is one of the most beautiful areas I have ever seen in my whole life, few minutes and you are riding on the top of the mountain and the river looks small and suddenly you can see the river running just on your road level.
Super ultimate place it was but we just had to ride and have to capture this beautiful natural wonders in our eyes and hearts only.
Small water crossings coming from the hill, slushy roads (under construction), valley full of flowers, greenery everywhere , river running with us and sun going down but we were just riding and enjoying the place.
It was 7:30 35 when we reached the
    DRASS WAR MEMORIAL.

And this was the place we were lost we seriously were remembering what the BRAVE SOLDIERS had done for us. How bravely they fought at
THE TIGER HILL, TOLOLING, BATRA TOP.
WE SALUTE ALL OF THEM FOR THEIR BRAVERY, SACRIFICE.

Just after the war memorial comes this board.
SECOND COLDEST INHABITED PLACE IN THE WORLD.!!! ( -60 degrees)

Withing few minutes we were in drass, took us few more minutes to find a decent hotel. Parked our bikes and straight to our rooms. I had to inform my parents, searched for a std booth and called them Srinagar was the destination for the next day.
Had dinner in the same hotel we were staying, we had to eat something and we just did that nothing else as it wasnt tasty at all!!!
In the rooms, lights off after SHARRY MANNs YAAR ANMULLE and in the dreams.
    when i ride...I RIDE...!!!

    Day 11th :
    Drass- ZOZI-LA- sonamarg- Srinagar
    Distance covered: 140kms (approx)
    THROUGH HEAVEN THE KASHMIR VALLEY
    ZOZI-LA

The target for the day is Srinagar which is easily doable from drass( the 60 extra kms we did last day, from kargil to drass are the reason we were relaxed) we just have to cover 150 kms from drass to Srinagar.
But 6:20am and we were on our steeds, dagar wants to go back and have a click with the coldest inhabited place board as he wasnt satisfied with the results last night, he rode back to the war memorial and we were waiting for him to come back.
Few clicks here and there and we finally started at around 6:30, we were waiting for ZOZI-LA to come with its challenges as we were told that after we cross it, the roads will be in much better condition.
But some patches of roads from drass to zozila are super awesome, you can rip your machines to their limits but I bet you wont, the beauty of the place wont let you zoom past it without noticing and it do force you to
    HAVE a SHOT:

After this region starts the climb and hence we were sure, zozila is not FAR now.
After almost 50 minutes of riding from drass, and from super awesome roads to unmettaled loose gravel, humpy roads( best for motocross) and our riding gears again white after riding in muddy, sandy and slush area we were here:
    T H E M I G H T Y Z O Z I L A:

Finally the most AWAITED pass came and was very calm at the time we were crossing it, few clicks and we were riding again, after few more kms before sonamarg came the base camp for the AMARNATH YATRA, BALTAL.
    Enroute BALTAL.

The roads were in bad, infact very bad condition but it was an experience to ride under such conditions.
Now this is the place where few years back( in 2008) when I was standing at the baltal parking with my friend after doing the yatra to the holy cave from pahalgam side and coming down to baltal, the trucks going up looks very small and looking at them I told my friend:
BHAAI SOCH LADAKH IS STILL HUNDREDS KMS AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, IF THIS PLACE IS SO BEAUTIFUL JUST IMAGINE LEH-LADAKH TO JANNAT HOGI..!!!
Kabhi wo bhi jaroor karenge, and this is how THAT parking area looks like from THAT side!!!

SAW THIS DREAM YEARS BACK AND YEAH!!!! I have done it..!!!
Few more shots an spending some time at this place we started riding down to baltal and towards sonamarg.
    spot the rider:

And then we came across this bridge..!!!

IMPOSSIBLE TAKES TIME, DIFFICULT WILL BE DONE IMMEDIATELY..!!!

Few more kms and we were welcomed:

I and dagar were riding slow and enjoying the place to the best possible way, the team was waiting for us at sonamarg for breakfast.
    Tummy full and RIDE ON..!!!

Few more shots just after sonamarg.

Sonamarg is very beautiful hill station enroute with wide open mountains and a river flowing besides the main highway and man-o-man it was flowing as if theres no tomorrow.
After riding through heaven for few more kms our bikes need fuel and we need a butt break. Srinagar is not that far now, riders relaxed tanks filled almost 20 minutes break and ride to the capital is on again.
Zipping and zooming through the tarmac roads where possible and safe to do we reached this junction, some locals suggested us to take the left route, some said go straight.
Them came a policemen, sir aap seedha jaao ek dam badia road hai aur ek dam khali.

And we were convinced now, though he told us that we have to ride few more kms extra.
And I now dont suggest anyone to take this route, though the roads are seriously in best condition but after almost 15-20kms you have to cross the city area and you enter Srinagar from the backside of the city( through subzi mandi actually).
Please dont take this route else you would have to repent for the extra (FEW= 10-15 kms) but riding through city is seriously a task in itself.
But yeah we managed to cross that and reach Srinagar at around 2pm.
Now we have to search for a hotel, and then came a young guy, sir hotel chahiye hotel, chalo mere saath, initially saif bhaai said NO..!!
But after few minutes of going here and there while we were THE CENTRE OF ATTRACTION of the locals and answering their questions.
    Kaha se aae hai aap??
Itni door se yaha tak, KYU.????
    Aap roadies hai roadies???
Accha aap bike pe leh ho aae, aji kya baat hai..!!!

Finally saif bhai and that guy managed to find that hotel and after a nok-jhok with the hotel owner we un-loaded our bikes, into the hotel rooms and the only thing in our mind was to take a bath as soon as possible and roam around the city and dal lake and enjoy the local food.
Rahul kumar menon decided to rest in the room while we were out for a AUTO-RICKSHAW (three wheeler) drive as we were not in a mood to RIDE.
Reached dal lake and after convincing the shikara owners( bargaining) he charged four of us 400bucks.

    DAL LAKE:

Did shopping from the market on the lake and after the sun goes down this place looks much more beautiful.

The amaranth yatra has to start the next day and Srinagar was fully packed, no place to stand, horns and music systems playing very very loud and local riders riding through the traffic like stoner does on corners.
We could not bear it more and after trying food at Punjabi dhaba, which wasnt upto the mark.
We decided to call it a day and go back to our hotel near LAL CHOWK.
And no one would believe me if I say we have to sleep with minimal cloths and fans on full speed to beat the heat of SRINAGAR!!!
    LIGHTS OFF!!!
    when i ride...I RIDE...!!!
