We reached Chail lazily at 2:30 PM. Now, let me tell you something about this place & the place where we stayed.

Chail is very least populated place with pockets of villages. It's surrounded by Chail sanctuary & thus you will dense green cover all around. It doesn't have many hotels near the main market but has few. One of them is State Govt. owned (HPTDC) Chail Palace hotel. It was the erstwhile estate of the Maharaja of Chandigarh. The estate itself is very big with main unit being the Palace & surrounding BEAUTIFUL gardens. The estate has thick forest cover & has some cottages &, the most interesting, log huts, 5 in number. It's around 500mts from the main unit & one has to travel through forest trail to reach the huts & the view is breathtaking. You can see Shimla on the distant mountain & see the beautiful sunset. The palace & the gardens are very beautiful. All the flower decoration inside the palace hotel is sourced from the garden itself.

the log hut pic when we arrived... the quality of carpet & linen is much better in the main palace suites & rooms (it has one Maharaja & Maharani suite)

Wife was happy for arranging a unique place

beginning to get dark & get's a bit scary too in the night

    Sunset...

We had a good sleep & in the evening headed towards the market to have food. Sorry for the poor photo.. seems like dust particles on my lense

there aren't many restaurant but we found one good dhaba, Anand restaurant. food was quite good & quite reasonable. Nothing very spicy or very oily but highly apt. A recommended place to eat. Don't go if you expect Delhi types dark oily choley-bhature. Infact, it serves very light choley.

Wore helmet everywhere (coz I liked it too much )

    Shimla city at a distance

    Poser wife

    Poser biker hubby

    Poser bike

There were other families too in the other huts but the atmosphere was way too calm still

    Thick cover

And the glimpse of sun rays of next day, 12th May our Anniversary.

    Wild but sexy flowers

the best part of being there in the midst of the forest & mountain is the peace you get. No car horns, no human bakar bakar... only birds chirping & the soothing air...

    More awesome pics coming later.....

The entire route to these hilly areas are very scenic. There was steep incline at one section & there I couldn't go beyond 3rd gear. My bike performed exceptionally well considering that it was carrying quite a lot of load. Took few breaks en-route to Kasauli.

Wife getting lost in the beauty of the surroundings

    Beautiful roads

    My bike & my wife

Awesome flowers... this tree was found almost on the entire stretch

    Posing time for the Biker

nice to see 220 completely covered with bags..

So, how often find peace & tranquility in the morning (in cities, never). in the morning of 12th May 2012, we found what a beautiful morning means. Absolutely no sound of car/bike/cycle horns, no human noise, pure fresh sir & birds chirping all around. We went for a little jugle trail walk, which is situated inside the estate only...

had to use flash here as it was very shaded & I wanted to capture those beautiful shrubs

This was near the house which was situated on the other hill... power of 35X optical zoom

I couldn't fix my focus onto the bird but still...

Peculiar bird. Dark blue colour & hops for quite a distance before flying away.

    original Beetle

    Beautiful capture (self appreciation )

We freshened up & headed for Sidh Baba ka Mandir which is situated at a steep hill. Believe me, I could only do 1st & 2nd gear in most of the stretch, it was that steep but again, view was awesome. I have made a video too. Will share that later.

    getting ready for mandir

    nice & peaceful mandir

It was just an amazing experience. So many butterflies & so scenic, can't be explained in true sense unless you see it yourself.
