Re: I Miss You - Indirapuram, Delhi NCR to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

          17th June 2014:

Jadcerla to Jhansi.. Nearly 1210 kms to travel.. Did I make it?? Well.. lets see about that

I kept alarm at 4:30 AM.. This time, I woke up after the alarm ringed.. Was too tired off all that travel under the hot sun.. I got ready by 5 AM and took out Black Pearl from the room.. got the balance 200 and started my ride..

This time, I was sure that I should not enter Hyderabad city and get stuck in there for hours, hence i made sure I look at the direction boards properly

Hyderabad is 85 kms from Jadcerla and I was hoping to make it to Hyderabad by 6:30 AM which is easily achievable.. the climate was fantastic (early morning) and i was easily able to ride at high speeds without getting the engine heated..

I reached Hyderabad and this time I made sure I don't enter the city and rather go on the highways.. Directions boards clearly read directions to Mumbai, Nagpur, Bangalore blah blah blah.. and I entered the wrong lane (bikes weren't allowed) and I got confused. so i stopped, turned the bike around and asked the guy at the toll.. he asked to take the other route going the same direction, more like a service lane I must say.. it was a bit dark and too much of confusions..

The roads were perfectly laid tarmac, well.. at-least for some distance.. i was riding at 80ish looking out for direction boards to enter the highways.. when I suddenly looked ahead of me to see a huge speed breaker.. I didn't have time to apply brakes.. had I applied brakes, I would have crashed.. I just got up from the saddle and let the bike past the speed breaker.. the suspension, forks and alloy took heavy beatings.. just when I thought I survived, there was another huge speed breaker and the same happened.. damn it.. I just stopped to see if everything was alright and to my naked eyes, everything seemed ok.. I finally got into the highways after a huge search rather a hunt which wasn't even essential as that road directly led me to the highways/ bypass roads.. I remember maybe wrong, exit to Nagpur was Exit 6 and thinking 6 isn't that far kept riding and riding and riding and pheww.. riding and riding and riding.. and finally after riding for almost 45 minutes, Exit 6 appeared and suggested I take left.. almost a 45 kms circular road to Nagpur..

When I entered the circular road with all the exits, the Milestone read 490 kms and as I moved forward, the milestone read 510 kms.. i was wondering how that extra 20 kms and realized only after checking the above map screenshot.. Just when I thought I have covered 45 kms towards Nagpur from Hyderabad, I realized those 45 kms were just to hit the hyderabad to Alidabad highways.. Had i gone to the city, I would have saved those 45 minutes and 45 kms as it was early morning and the traffic would be less or none in-fact.. Upset about this I just went ahead and the time was about 8 AM.. Took a break for 5 minutes as I got a call from my fiance.. a Good Morning call Meanwhile after the call

It was a pleasant day so far and I loved the climate.. My fiance again burst out her tears worrying about me riding all the way back.. I consoled her saying don't worry, I will reach safely and only after I promised her she stopped crying..

I started riding again.. People in cars again, overtaking me to have a close look at my crazy face wondering why would anyone ride a bike alone geared up with a Delhi Registration.. in-fact one guy in car came to me and asked me something in Telugu. I spoke in Tamil and he just left

I was doing 100s by now and the crosswinds have reduced. I just looked left and right.. Trust me, I don't recognize the roads i was riding in.. it was hilly at times, at times it was very dry and blah blah.. never noticed all this when I was on my way to Hyderabad from Adilabad.. because I was riding early morning when I had to use to the headlights to see the roads I was riding without any problem. I had a huge smile on my face after seeing the direction board..

The time was around 9:30 and Delhi just 1213 kms ahead.. well, the number is huge, however compared to 2400 kms??

in about another 25 kms, I will have to face a disaster.. the horrible roads again.. where I can't even go beyond 30 kmph with all the dust.. where the buses and trucks drive at a very high speed not worrying about the poor people walking and riding bikes on those horrible roads..

I knew I could reach Nagpur by 2 PM.. I needed to get the chain tightened and lubed.. also the side wall of the rear tire was getting rubbed to the chain guard, I had to get a check on it.. it was too early when I reached Hyderabad to search for Mechanics so I decided to stop by any mechanic on the way..

After crossing 25 kms from Adilabad, the road conditions are as below..

These roads lasted for almost 50 kms and this took me almost 2 hrs to complete when I was on my way to Coimbatore on the 11th of June.. at night of course Never expected this, but this time I made sure I cross it during day time..

I found a local mechanic just after few kms from this spot.. got him to tighten the chain and I lubed the chain.. he fixed the side wall rubbing issue. I knew the reason however I couldn't help it as I didn't have the tools for the same..

somehow I crossed these roads in an hour and managed to reach the Nagpur highways again where the roads were fabulous was on constant 126 kmph for about 3 hrs with some brakes here and there during overtakes and even at that time, i was above 100.. no cross winds this time which made the ride pleasant.. the time was 11:30 AM and Nagpur just 50 kms away and i was sure to make it by 12:30 PM.. I wanted to fill up the fuel tank and was in a look out for fuel outlet.. I found one HP fuel station and inquired whether they accept card. They said yes and I filled up the tank and I had to pay some 900~ I handed over the card and when they swiped, the machine did not respond.. they tried again and with the same results.. That got me upset as I had very little cash and I needed it for later where fuel stations will be minimum and where they don't accept cards in case of emergency.. with no other choice, I handed them the cash and left the place.. with this running in my mind, i just went straight with my mind not concentrating on the road.. after I came back to my senses, I had no idea where I was heading and up ahead I saw Welcome to Nagpur Board.. thinking I was still on the highways, i went ahead and damn, i entered the city.. I started the Maps and my Lumia was suggesting me to go straight and blah blah blah.. I just followed the GPS.. Heavy traffic, many school buses, vans, auto rickshaws.. phew.. got so fed up.. I just lost my way and I just couldn't recollect any of the city name I passed by to hit the highways.. no one was able to help me instead they said go straight when i asked for route to Jhansi/Gwalior/New Delhi/Agra.. grrrr

I then turned on the GPS again and i started following it.. after riding for like another 10 kms when I was waiting for the railway gate to open, I realized I was being directed towards Bhopal and I didn't want to go via Bhopal, that will add to the distance and time.. So I tried to recollect the name of few cities which I passed by the other day.. I recollected Seoni and fed it to the GPS and it directed me towards AH43/NH7.. I wasted almost an hour here

I was thirsty and now that I know I am going on the right path, I decided to have some lemonade.. I went into the city again (the same way I went the last time to get the engine oil changed) found the lemonade wala.. when i stopped, suddenly the horn stopped working.. I didn't know what the problem was.. but it was simply too hot and I was standing just under the sun.. ordered 3 glasses of Lemonade and drank them

The time was some 1:45 PM and I started towards NH7 from the city.. then I remembered the horns aren't working.. I went under the fly over on NH7 where there was shadow.. went to the front and looked for what the problem was.. checked the relay connections and they seemed fine.. when I pressed the horn button, the relay wasn't triggering.. I was upset as i might have to go in search of a relay in order to get the horns fixed which might again make me lose some time.. I didn't want to give up and I checked the wires again and found the Earth wire was cut.. the wire wasn't long enough and I didn't have the proper size spanner to connect it back to the place where it got cut off from.. then I started searching for a proper place to connect the Earth wire and finally found a place.. I did a Jugaad just for temporary adjustment.. used the Insulation tape and taped the Earth wire over the place and pressed the Horn button and it was working.. Happy me.. I left from the place..

Sorry, but I guess you guys might have to wait till the night to complete today's ride log

                    Continuation...

I checked for the distance from Nagpur to Jhansi. The map showed up as below

I had to cover 600 odd kms and the time right now is 2 PM.. I had some odd 8 hours with me to reach Jhansi.

After crossing 10 kms, I again felt thirsty so I stopped for the Lemonade again.. this time, i order 4 and got them filled into an extra bottle i had so that I can have a sip whenever I wanted to.. It was too hot and I had no other choice

So I left Nagpur and moved towards Jhansi.. Pench National Park just 20 kms from Nagpur.. Awesome Place to ride through.. I couldn't enjoy it when I went past it last week.. but only now I realized how beautiful it is.. riding through a Forest.. Trees on both the sides.. greenery stealing my eye sight every now and then.. The Natural birds singing to their own tone.. The problem is, I just couldn't stop as I didn't have much time. The roads were not that great as well.. this road lasted for almost 30 kms..

even though the road conditions weren't that great, I just kept onto the speedometer reading of 80-85 kmph.. and maxed at 95 kmph.. I had perfect control of my Black pearl or maybe she was able to understand my mind Mind reading maybe.. We make good partnership..

As I was riding along the National Park, I saw some 10 bikers on REs going towards Nagpur.. I gave a Thumbs Up to them and looked ahead of me..

None of these pics are edited.. they are Raw pics.. this is how the roads are and if you look at the clouds, you can imagine what lies ahead of me.. just some 10 minutes back, I was dying riding under the sun and what lies ahead of me was unknown.. It was windy and I knew something was coming towards me..

I stopped again after riding for another 3 kms.. I took out the small plastic bags I had to keep my mobiles and my wallet inside.. took out a black garbage bag to cover my bag with my clothes (though it is waterproof, I didn't want to take any risk) and put on the gears and started riding.. no rain yet.. few more bikers on REs thumping their way past me.. I pressed the Pass button and they responded back It started drizzling.. I moved inside a Fuel station just to ensure I had everything covered so that I don't get wet.. oops, i forgot to inform my fiance that it is about to rain and I am keeping my mobile phones inside.. sent a msg stating the same and kept my mobile inside.. She shouldn't get worried if I don't attend her calls.. I drank some of the Lemonade I purchased..

The village people at the fuel station looked at me.. well, let me rephrase it.. Stared at me as if I am a terrorist.. Not to forget I was wearing a Balaclava.. I removed it and wore my bandanna because I didn't want the visor to get fogged up.. All done and I am ready to move.. It started drizzling a little more than before but hey, I am not scared of rain nor it can stop me from riding..

As I continued with my ride, the rain started pouring in harder.. as in, nothing ahead on the road was visible.. I mean, come on.. the roads are no where near good and with water on the road, how am I going to know where the potholes are!! but hey, that is something I was never scared of before.. I continued to ride as other people on bike were looking out for a place to stay dry.. ahead of me was a Scorpio.. driving slow, but not allowing me to pass ahead of him.. I couldn't overtake him as there were too many potholes on the overtaking side.. I flashed and honked asking for space to let me go past him.. finally I found an opportunity to overtake and I did.. when overtaking, I just took a quick glance at the driver and God Damn it.. you might have understood already, yes.. a Freaking Lady driver.. argggggggggg.. I crouched and I just sped away.. it rain was pouring down on me.. heavier than before.. finally reached 4 lane road with one way traffic.. that was a blessing from God I must say.. Now I was able to ride at better speeds.. quite happy I continued at constant speed of 90ish as it was raining.. the roads took me past hills and small mountains.. I had to stop for almost 5 minutes as there was a small landslide and the container trucks trying to get past the landslide by coming all the way to the left side of the lane.. that was a dangerous risk..

After that traffic got cleared, it stopped raining heavily and started drizzling.. and slowly it stopped raining.. I always wanted to test the tires in rain and My God, the tires did a fantastic job.. using Michelin Sirac Street in front and Zapper Q at the rear.. I tried to bend the bike as much as possible on the watery roads and to my surprise, it didn't slip and I had the complete control of the bike.. both the tires are Tube-Type and I am using them as Tubeless tires.. braking was effective and they were working as they should..

After crossing all this hilly areas, the long stretch came up again.. again I started riding the bike at its max @120-130 kmph depending upon the up-slopes and down-slopes.. There was a Sumo speeding up on seeing me overtake with ummm.. girls in it I slowed down purposely giving the driver the hope that he can overtake me at ease.. well.. he overtook me at 90 kmph.. he showed me a Thumbs-down which triggered the beast in me.. I let him go well ahead of me of some 1 km and I picked up speed.. doing 125-128 kmph.. crouching down completely (Please don't try this).. I overtook him at 130 kmph.. and then i slowed down again, let him overtake me and I overtook him again.. this must have showed him not to mess with me then I just sped away disappearing from him sight.. I crossed Seoni and took some break for 5 minutes as I wanted to stretch after riding in rain.. the Sumo overtook me again but this time I wasnt worried about anything..

Well.. guess what? i started sneezing.. grrrr.. I caught a cold... this lemonade, I don't know which water it is made out of and I drank a lot of it.. God Damn it..

Please bear with me.. this is a long one and I am sorry I will continue later in the night or after I reach home depending on when I get time..

                    Cheers,
                    Reneav

Normally i do not read a T-Log in one go,but your Log had made me what i don't normally do,read the whole Log in one go and boy it is fantastic, the way you have narrated the whole Story & the pics,i was feeling a whole bollywood love story is in the making, and read the whole log due to a constant love for KARIZMA(both R and ZMR) by me...

And as it is shown in the movies, the love story part is always emotional & low on events but what happens later on is much more eventful.(in this case your ride back to delhi).

Waiting for the Final leg of your journey....

Hope i also get a chance to do what you have done for your love.

I am not sure if I will be doing Ladakh with her.. I am not sure of the situations and I don't think she can bear those extreme temperatures.. but I have a plan in the making to ride with her from Kashmir to Kanyakumari She has agreed to it.. though my initial plan for this ride was to get a bigger bike and take her but she insisted on taking her on Black Pearl for this tough ride..

BTW, thanks for reading the log at one go.. sorry to have disappointed you by not finishing the Log just yet.. it might take me another 2 days to complete the log.. there are lots to share by words and not by photography as I didn't have the time to click much pics.. and Thank you for your wishes

                        =====

So I have caught a Cold and I was sneezing throughout.. The temperature was perfect for the long ride and with lots of hopes I was riding at good speeds.. There were lots of problems with crows and cows on the highways at that point of time.. at one point of time I had to duck and change the directions immediately because the crows were simply too close and again had to change the direction as there were some kids walking on the middle of the Road on seeing me do this, I don't know what they thought, a kid with a wooded log tried to hit me with it.. I for a minute got angry, turned back, showed the finger and moved on..

the time was around 4 :45 PM when I reached the highways towards Lalitpur.. near a small village named Bichuvva which is located at some 55 kms from Seoni, MP. I took a short break as I wanted to click a couple of pics leaving the bike on the middle of the highways.. Yes, there was no one.. not even a single soul other than me.. Again, natural pics.. not edited.. Raw pics directly uploaded from my Mobile to Google + to upload it here in the travelogue

I again got a bad intuition after seeing the clouds ahead of me.. Am I going to be stuck in rain?? Will I be able to make it to Jhansi in another 5 to 6 hrs? I checked the google maps and the results were as below..

Ok, I had some 450 kms to ride upto Jhansi.. Can I make it in 6 hrs? I have done 480 kms ride in 6 hrs and 30 minutes on a Hunk, so that gave me the confidence that I can make it easily..

With the same confidence, I started with the ride again.. everything was going great.. the roads were never an issue till Jhansi.. though some constructions here and there which were never a problem as it didn't cover any more than 200m.. I was going straight and the road was splitting.. 2 ways.. one towards the right and the other towards left... No one was there to even ask and I took the road towards left.. both looked like highways to me.. after I rode for some 2 kms, the roads became nasty.. couldn't get past the 10 kmph mark.. even if I reach upto 30 kmph, in a couple of seconds, I had to slow down to 10 kmph and sometimes a complete halt..

And then I read a board that read, Welcome to Narsinghpur.. I was F**ked up.. I entered into the city without the option to turn back as I already completed more than 5 kms of horrible roads and 7 kms interior to the city.. so I started asking for directions to Jhansi and finally, I got stuck up for about 10 minutes because of the Railway Gate.. i was abusing myself for this and I noticed the time was somewhere around 6 PM already.. I had to complete almost 330 kms more with just 4hrs left in hand.. I just wanted to make it as far as I can.. if not Jhansi, atleast somewhere on the highways near Jhansi..

I finally came out of the city at 6:10 PM and I picked up speed.. Guess what? it started drizzling again.. in a matter of few minutes, the rain started pouring hard.. hitting my body with those huge droplets when riding at 80-90 kmph.. i figured out I had to slow down as the rain was hitting me badly.. I slowed down to 60 kmph, crouched down and continued with the ride and in-between sneezing to the core.. this continued for almost 1hr and 30 minutes and the time was 7:35 PM. I decided not to go any further as this cold I caught was bringing down my confidence on highways and that too in dark, I didn't want to take risk.. so I started looking out for places to stay 10 kms after crossing a small village named Deori in MP.. I checked if there is any place to stay nearby and they said I will only find Dhaba and if I wanted decent rooms, I will have to go till Sagar which is some 54 kms from where I was standing..

I decided to continue in the rain with no other choice.. I had to ride for another 45 minutes.. I picked up speed and was able to ride at 80 kmph and finally reached the entrance to Sagar city.. I just inquired about decent places to stay and i was told to go into the city (another 8 kms) and I will find decent hotels to stay in.. I slowed down as it was simply too dark and due to rain, the road visibility was poor.. and also the roads narrowed to where only 1 truck can go.. I finally reached the main city and found a decent hotel to stay in.. I was all wet and when I inquired about room, the receptionist is asking me if I needed an AC room.. I was like WTF?? Are you serious?? the time now was 8:45 PM

The room cost me 400/- and i did all the check in formalities.. went into the room.. removed my wet clothes and left them for dry, changed my clothes, took out my phone and damn, you won't believe.. i had almost 40 missed calls right from 4:30 PM till 8:25 PM.. I immediately went to the messages and found the msg was not even sent due to network problems I was in serious trouble.. i checked who all called.. it was mom and my fiance.. Holy shit..

I immediately grabbed a screenshot and sent that via Hike to her.. the moment, I called mom and told her it was raining and I was outside with friends, didn't take my mobile phone.. and then i called my fiance.. she picked up the phone and she started bursting out tears.. she started crying what happened, why didn't you attend the call and why didn't you bother to even call me.. I was all worried and blah blah.. I made her understand the situation and asked her to check the image I sent on Hike.. she wasn't consoled but she had no other choice as the reason seemed valid.. a big time FAIL for me.. why didn't I check the mobile network before even thinking of dropping the message to her.. I was under big tension at that point of time and what I thought will keep her from worrying only made her cry more.. she though understood the situation later.. Meanwhile, I ordered for Paneer ka parantha and Chilly Paneer..

I had my dinner and then spoke with my fiance for 5 minutes and I slept peacefully keeping alarm at 5 AM and leave to New Delhi..

Expected Destination: Jadcerla to Jhansi (1210 kms)
Actual Destination: Jadcerla to Sagar (1010 kms)
Time of Travel - 5:10 AM to 8:30 PM which is nearly 15 Hrs and 20 Minutes of riding..

Disappointed I couldn't make it to Jhansi, but it was my mistake wasting nearly 2 hrs getting lost inside Nagpur and Narsinghpur.. otherwise, I would have made it till Jhansi easily..

But nevertheless, I made 1010 kms..

she was totally dumbstruck, she sat on the bike ... As soon as she sat, she was punching me on my back crying.. Why didn't you tell me? You came on bike all the way just to see me? I just kept my mouth shut as I didn't have anything to say.. i just smiled at her and said "Because I Love You" & I will do anything for you beyond your imaginations She just hugged me tightly.. She couldn't stop those tears out of excitement and she couldn't express the feelings as much as I couldn't.. She didn't know she would meet me before the wedding purchases begin... and here I am..
