Congrats ingeniousnut!! You lived your dream.. And hats off to your parents and family for their support..

My family is totally against my idea of doing Ladakh.. going there by air is also a strict "no-no"!!

My dream is still a dream, but I know, one day it'll come true

    Day -2
    Theog – Manali (230 Kms)

Started day with no excitement, the route we taken was very less crowded and steep too. So we were riding 50-60 kmph.

It was raining partially but we were heavily prepared for riding non-stop in rains. It was like we are going for a war or something.

Sky is filled with clouds , roads were partially good and only good part was most of the time we were on downhill so it was easy to manage 60-70 at times.

But I am not feeling that it’s our 15 days Leh road trip because of not going to Spiti and according plan we were not riding on snow today.

View is changing every 50 kms but some beautiful places we saw on this route.

We reached Mandi, filled up tanks. Last 4-5 hours we were riding alone so we were happy to see vehicles on Delhi-Manali highways as we merged into it.

I am riding first time to Manali so little excitement is still there and was happy to see smooth roads & 4-5 biking groups heading towards Ladhak. It was the time when I started feeling like I am part of a Carnival. In no time we reached Manali and its already dark.

God Manali is too crowded for being a hills station. Lots of cars, big Markets & tourists in them seems like some off-season sale is going in a Mall.

We asked locals that if we need any permits for Rohtang, luckily we don’t. Now the good feelings have started, found a good room around old Manali. Had dinner in main market, bought few more essentials like Petrol Cans for tomorrow.

I was so excited for tomorrow. All the travelogues I’ve been reading & watching pictures in last 2 years were flashing in front of my eyes. I checked everything & and went late for sleep and even I could not sleep properly.

    DAY – 3
    Manali – Keylong (115 Kms)

We left Manali around 10 a.m. As soon as we approached to Rohtang, beautiful sceneries I must say, snow covered mountains.

Heard alot about Rohtang pass but I fell it quite Ok if your bike is not feeling under powered. When we were about to reach top, My bike really disappointed me being underpowered. Full throttle but no luck, then I increased the idling at 2500 rpm, it helped a bit but still.

For a moment I thought it was the biggest mistake I took a 5-year-old bike but as soon as I approached top, I saw another FZ battling with the same problem.

Now going back to Manali and get some Jugaad done was threatening me because going back was easy but again I’ve to fight back to climb the pass.
Somehow I reached around top and Shahnawaz told me to remove Air Filter so I tried it.

Yes, it helped to reach top but still I was very unconfident to move further but after Rohtang it was downhill, so little relieved and confident.

Now we are moving towards Keylong, it start feeling that we approaching The Ladhak Region, Because very less people on road.

Took a pitstop at Koskar and moved further. In every 20-30 kms view is changing, I’ve been to Badrinath, nanital, Shimla but never seen such peace of Mountains.

After we reached I was so insecure to move forward without inspecting the bike by Mechanic. So searched for a Mechanic and fortunately it was 2-3 blocks away from our hotel.

He recommended a copper wire job for oil jet pump and did the same. Yes, Bike is responding so well now. He was a good Mechanic and he never want to let us go with half job done so he test rode the bike for 2-3 times and handed over the bike until he is satisfied.
