    Default Delhi to Rameshwaram Trip

    Hello,

This post might be old one but still wanted to share with you the details of the bike trip that we took from Delhi to Rameshwaram this October 2014.
Following are some of the details of our ride:
Riders: Nitin Pal Singh(Bullet Electra UCE 350); Pradeep Reddy (Yamaha R15); both working in Gurgaon
    Total Kms: 6800Kms
    Route Taken :
    Going South : Delhi>>>Udaipur>>>Vapi>>>Belgaum>>>Bangalore>>>Mad urai>>>Rameshwaram (End-Point - Dhansuhkodi)
    Returning North: Rameshwaram>>>Kodaikanal>>>Mysore>>>hubli dharwad>>>Pune>>>Vadodara>>>Chittaurgarh>>>Delhi

The October month is the most important one looking from Riders' prespective, we started our journey on 4th October from Delhi. My friend and I met in front of Ambience Mall, Gurgaon and started our journey at 7:00am.
    Let the below pictures speak......

    Travelogue Approved.

@NitinPalSingh What a huge trip you guys had! Congratulations.... And the pics are nice... I saw the video of the Pamban bridge. Beautiful place indeed...
    Eagerly awaiting more pics.

And yes, the Jaipur-Delhi route is bad. The Ajmer to Jaipur is nice though.

Sorry for the late reply guys.......
    to continue........

    Inception of the trip -

We started making plans for this trip around Feb 2014 and kept asking many friends who can join us. Obviously, there were many people pouring in at that point, some even laughed at us saying that this is not achievable. Still, we initiated our plans by applying for leaves for 2 weeks in October around in June 2014.
Now came September, we started looking for the interested friends, many of which backed out.......only 3 were left in the end.
Anyways, we went ahead to purchase saddle bags, gloves, touring and medical kits....... 1 week was left.
The date to commence the journey was finalized to 4th October......on 2nd Oct., one more backed out...........now the question whether we 2 should go or cancel the plan altogether.
Me and my friend decided to go anyways and see that how the things go........
Pradeep has Yamaha R15 and I have Bullet.........
    Let the pictures speak:
We met at 7 AM in the morning at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon and targeted for Udaipur....

We reached Udaipur by 6:30PM.....this day was very boring as it was mostly straight roads and no hills......the roads were empty as well.....we took the hotel.

Next Day - 5th Oct - Destination to Reach - Palghar (instead had to put up at Vapi)
this day, we never thought we would have to travel longest and the day was the hottest one.... the National Highway Expressway between Ahmedabad and Surat does not allows Bike to travel so we had to take NH8(that portion is longer and under-construction)......
Snap@Drink Break - as the weather was hot, we preferred liquids rather than main course, this saved us time as well....

Somewhere in Gujarat, i do not remember the name of the place.

    3rd Day - 6th October - Vapi to Belgaum......
We had to re-plan our destination to suit the situation.....this was also the day when we started getting drenched....
The terrain starts changing when we entered Maharastra...the weather is good....and reaching Pune was fun...
NH8 is very good between Vapi and Mumbai:

Near Mahabaleshwar, it started raining and we were drenched....thanks to the watercover for saddle bags...our things were safe.

    4th Day - 7th October - Belgaum to Bengaluru
this was good day to start, weather was good, the night before it was raining heavily and this morning the roads were all drenched......yet we started

At Bengaluru, we stayed at Pradeep's Uncle place. it was like heaven to eat home-food after 3 days.

    5th Day - 8th October - My Birthday - Bangaluru to Madurai:
We started around 8:30 AM in the morning as the distance was around 350 kms.
    The roads are fabulous:

Pradeep's rear tyre started gaining problems and he had to get it replaced at Salem.....luckily, the tyres are manufactured here and you can easily get the tyres, plus the people in this town are very co-ordinating.........

More story to come......still many pics left to upload......
