Default Chasing The Destiny | True Wanderers 4.0

    CHASING THE DESTINY

This travelogue is about my True Wanderers 4.0 journey which left a big mark on my history book of memories and riding tales.

Hope you all would like it.
Some may have gone through the blog on TW webpage.

Would like to share here too.

I participated in 4th edition of this competition this year which commenced last week and by Gods grace and with help of many supporters and loved ones I got the First runners up position.
Frankly speaking wanted to win it after getting praises and appreciation but I am happy for being part of this journey.

Why this title - you will get to know after reading the blog.

So here it goes with some liners and sneak peak poster.

In dedication to my parents and my brothers who have always been a supporting throughout my life. Dedicated to Dad who has always been there right from the time of dropping me to school on his scooter to the time while he was smiling, watching me ride his scooter first time. Dedicating it to my Mom, who never gets bored listening to experiences and stories. And last but not the least my brothers Basil and Sauban who always get fascinated with my travel tales and share their own and feel proud to see even them getting inculcated with this habit of riding.

    Fate and Anticipation
Destiny has always left me amazed and riding shaped me with its different experiences and lessons. Whether it is struggle riding with the mountain fever alone for 400kms or leaving my job for sake of riding. This was not enough, that life has got something to show me and even after losing the hope of not even able to participate in this edition of True wanderers, I am here among the TOP 10 Wanderers of India. Guess how come??
In this rush of excitement and nervousness from last evening for next 12 days, it has left me puzzled what to do, how to prepare and where to go! I just know I have to be out of this slumber of monotony, gather my skills and navigate into an uncharted territory of new possibilities and Chase my Destiny.

Ride as if you are riding for your existence
Ride as if you are riding for the last time
Those roads which never gonna end
Those places which gonna see your existence
    Time which will fade away
Left will be the memories and those riding faces.

    Nasruminallah wa Fathun Qareeb

Now that's what the doctor ordered. Once again congrats for your success. Can't wait to go through your experience. Your childhood friend Subhasish(from Bokaro) is a colleague of mine. He is also very excited about your success.

ROAD TO THE FINALS OF TRUE WANDERERS 4.0

I have always been an ardent fan of True Wanderers seasons, not just by the glare of prize and gifts but with the fact that bikers and there adventures do get considered and there are people who love to follow and know about such adventurous journeys and rides. Though I never took interest in participating into it, wonder why or is it just my lame excuses of being lazy of penning down and collecting down my experiences and pictures at one place. Be it long rides to distant places or solo journey to several far reaches of India, I can talk for long and can even whatsapp for several hours suggesting different routes and things.
This time something else was gonna come for me. It was month of February 2015 when my younger brother discussed that True Wanderers posters are out. And I was just back from my wonderful Solo Kutchh trip.

I was not able to move my eyes from the computer. A different desire aroused and I just started dreaming to be one of the True Wanderer. All the journey and road trips started coming out as poems and they were rushing through the mind of rider to be pen down on the paper. But my fate and destiny had its own game to play.

One side I was dreaming to pen down the experiences and have joyous time other side I was getting bogged down by the monotonous IT life. Instead of travelogues and experiences I was getting filled up by technical jargons and time constraints. I was almost off from the special discourse and my computer was only filled with my office work.

I thought of penning down my latest experiences of Kutchh and Gujarat, but soon saw similar stuff coming up and even the same title was used which I wanted to. Out of irritation I just ignored my entry and thought of not participating.

This wasnt enough and there comes another special moment (yes especially IT guys love it) and I was about to travel to UK for office business purpose. At one end I was excited in preparations of my foreign trip on other side I just pulled off the TW plug and made myself calm iterating Jo hota hai acche ke liye hota.

Before anything happens I would like to pen down this, because I was left awestruck because of it:

I believe there is a destiny for everyone
I believe there is someone out there for everyone
We spend our lives looking for both

    But at night
    When everyone sleeps
    My mind wanders

    And I ask myself
    Do these things exist
Or are we spending too much time looking
    When we should be waiting.

Yes destiny was something else, and God knows but somehow my strings with True Wanderers episode remained attached. 2 days from registrations getting closed on 12th Feb, I got the news I wont be travelling UK and all plans have been cancelled.

Disgust? Anger? Irritation? No these emotions didnt even came up for a while(though I was bit annoyed with my manager). Rather I was laughing in washroom on my luck and destiny. I was wondering what is written in my luck and instead of wasting much time I rushed home to start working on my blog. Yes this time I was writing and all these signs of positivity inculcated me to participate. That weekend was spent just sitting in my room and scribbling my fingers on the keyboard. MS-Word and Photoshop were my closest friends and I almost lost track of time.

It was midnight 12th April and I was still left with some content to be uploaded before completely submitting my nomination. I almost described all my ardent journeys of past three years only and was not hoping something for big.

But I guess this word is not going to leave you and me and especially me on this journey. At the stroke of midnight I was logged and I was sitting with incomplete content and a non-submitted nomination. I thought this is the end and left everything and my fate in Gods hand.

This time I was not having the confidence whether my nomination will be even considered. Scrolling through my emails I used to wait for notification of completing and submitting by candidature, but it was just to console me.

No strings attached naah part 2 of this movie is not coming atleast not in my case. It was 14th April(day before voting closes) morning and as usual I woke up late and after having a look on my mail I just jumped off to pick up my laptop. Yes yes yes, it was mentioned to complete the blog and submit my travel story soon before the voting closes.

    Name: IMG_5722.jpg

It took me around half a day because the drama didnt end rather just started. Instead of submitting by blog I was arguing with electric board people to restore power in my area. After hours of anxiety and clumsiness I somehow managed to sit with laptop to successfully submit it and to my amazement it was approved and was live for everyone to go through it.

    Name: IMG_5723.jpg

Size: 11.9 KB

Less than 24 hours left before the voting closes and I didnt gave hope rather had confidence deep inside my blog will be submitted and will be selected. Someone would be a fool to anticipate its selection with just mare voting but I had the confidence that I will be selected and would be selected (overconfidence naah just believing that inner voice).

A week past by and I got busy with work. Until one fine evening Ashish from xBhp sent me a mail informing me that I have been shortlisted. I was happy but also aware that shortlisted is the word he used, not selected. He asked certain details to be provided to him. This suspense was created and kept me hanging. Honestly, next 2 minutes I was speechless.

In life when something surprising happens one is left with a faster heartbeat.

On final day I was busy working switching screen in between my workstation and True Wanderers website. Sitting in meeting, or having a cup of coffee with colleagues, I was physically present there but my mind was somewhere else wondering what will I do if I get selected and what not if I am not. 20 votes bugger and you are having over confidence this was my bike telling to me when I was standing beside her in office parking lot.

Back to business, I resumed my work and was completely bogged down with it.

As soon as I stop thinking about it, I got a whatsapp notification from a common biker buddy congratulating me on my selection.

Are you out of your mind, I got selected asked my friend which he nodded laughing on me.
My feelings were beyond description and it took me an hour to look away from my computer screen parallel to answering calls and whatsapp messages.

    1 day - 20 votes - True Wanderer. PERIOD.

I am yet to overcome the joyous feeling and still try to sink the news while writing it.

After this series of events and emotions I realized how eventful things could be, and one will get what he or she is destined to get it.

Had it not been pointed out by my brother, if my travel plans would have not been cancelled, if I would have not argued for electric power I would have never made it for this ultimate saga.

    PREPARATION MADNESS

Results were out and I was not able to get over the hangover of the excitement of getting selected. Every day is passing by either dreaming of distant land to get lost or hearing to my friends sharing similar emotions on getting selected and how to prepare.
First 2 days I wasted doing nothing for the ride, just exchanging mails with Ashish(xBhp headquarters) or answering calls and talking with Jigar(Wrangler guy and dealing with all things of True Wanderers event).
Best part of all this was I will be paid for this ride, ie all expense ride.

NIkal padi bidhu……. Cherry upon that wonderful merchandisers from Wrangler.

My brother was planning to get his hands on new DSLRs and this anxiety I also decided to test the new DSLRs on this. And to my utter luck DSLRs arrived just before the ride on 29th April.

Crazy sheeeeeeet, what a luck. One more thing comes up just to help in getting things done in my own way.

After playing around with it I was again to ground zero, confused in deciding which direction to go – North, South, East or West. Though I was pretty sure where I will be going, but I was turning the map just to make a plan B and plan C.

Now you would be wondering, he is making India so small, trying to portray as if whole India is accessible on two wheels. Ya I would say yes, India is ofcourse accessible on two wheels to almost all places. And what not does India have, rather I believe first visit all places of our country then.

Anyways too much of “gyaan” moving forward.

In the final days got call and also an email from Jigar informing about the details of Wrangler store where I have to visit to collect my merchandisers.
He also mentioned about the dates and timings when I will be flagged off for the True Wanderers ride. Moreover he mentioned that the flag off will be covered by media too. Man this all was turning crazy.

Alas most of the things didn’t happen as I expected.

Days past by and I kept on wondering and working upon the route and destination where I would be going. In this mad rush, I took out time to get bike serviced. But suddenly some electric issues came up and bike needed 2 days off time. All thanks to Kiran and Karan from Pacer, Yamaha, HRBR Layout they sorted up everything and also did a thorough servicing( I always rely upon them before going on long rides).

Got the bike fixed in last weekend 3 days before the ride.

Yes she is a Charm and she needs a Foam Wash

I thought of going for shopping on weekend. But for every good time there would be bad time. I was asked from office to work out office hours, which means 6-6 I have to stick to the idiot box and work. Arrrgggghhhhh upon that, crazy clients came up with idiotic issues

And finally the solution for all was to go and do shopping on weekend which indeed was mood refreshment and different experience. Thank you “Wrangler” for such warm welcome and superb sets of apparels.

Got the helmet at last moment because I wanted matt black helmet of good built.

Stickers didn’t came up and have to run to different courier centers to hunt down, alas ended up wasting time on last day and finally got it from Jigar on flag off day.

    THINGS I AM CARRYING

Whenever I go for ride my friends and sometimes even my brother says “You have packed up too much”. But no, it is never more; rather when one goes out it does have a feeling how can I miss that thing.

Same was the scenario which Sauban and my friends Suhasa and Arnab were telling me.
I said the keep calm and just watch. All the things which I am carrying will be required for this adventurous trip and nothing will go waste or over weight.

“And Senorita hai na, she will accommodate everything nicely”.

Speaking this to them, so here is what I am carrying my bag and here:

    FLAG OFF

According to official mail, my flag off was on May 05th, 2015, in late afternoon from Wrangler Showroom, 100 feet Indiranagar, Bangalore.

It was quite sunny and exciting day. Finally the R-day had arrived and I wasn’t set, bhag saquib bhag :P. Officially I invited my friends through FB, whatsapp and some on calls too.

I got the bike washed in the morning and completed some write-ups for the blog before I start for the venue.

Reached an hour before for early media interaction and also to take stickers from Jigar, as I had not completed the sticker work since it was not delivered(bad luck). Some friends were already present before me and even they lend hands to finish it soon for the photo session and flag off event.

There were couple of media representatives for me. Well not just me, but also for Sudhir(another TW finalist).

“Look at the poser” my friends giggled. I am not used to such glam-sham and was in anticipation of very few guys covering the event, but here they were; some ready with their questions and wishes while other holding big bazooka lenses. It was a challenge to give apt answers to couple of them.

It was time, and was almost getting dusk. I was equally eager to hit the road and was also getting nervous what is gonna happen and how will time pass by as I was about to start midnight.

Yes you read it right, I was about to start midnight, and thus level of uneasiness and anxiety didn’t even allowed me to sleep well.

I was waiting when the clock hand turn; impatient man turns into iron man with mind body and soul aimed at its target to GET SET GO.
