Stunning T-Log mate. Beautifully covered all the parts, yup, marriage and staring and food included. :P
I have recently shifted to Pune from the Dearest Hyderabad and not able to cope with the environment. May be because my beloved 220 is still in Hyderabad which I am planning to bring to Pune via road.

    Need your suggestions on this.

    Pre-production story
This has been a long planned and long awaited ride… When I say it is awaited, I mean it and when I say it is planned I just think mean it… It all came to my mind when my friends invited me for their marriages… Yes you read it right, there are marriageS happening… I no longer belong to the i-don’t-f**king-care early 20s and I realize this every time I logon to Facebook and I see loads of posts which says ‘In a Relationship’, ‘Engaged’, ‘Married’, etc… Okay let me not read Chanakya’s Chants now and get back to touring related stuff… I have one marriage to attend on February 14th at Kurnool (220kms from Hyderabad) and another on February 18th at Narasaraopet (near Guntur and 240kms from Hyderabad).. This was ‘Man me doosra laddoo phoota’ moment for me… One laddoo about attending marriages by taking a break from work and another about having road trip to cover both the marriages How fun that can be????
Immediately I applied for leaves on Feb 18th and 19th … Got the approval within hours, two days was never a problem for them… But I was waiting for the right moment to launch the bomb that I am going to work from home for the rest of the three days in the week. When I did, it did make some sounds of ‘Awww’ and ‘Howww’ but I got what I wanted…
Simultaneously the planning happened… Let me tell you I am not a long distance rider till now… All I do and All I love is short weekend trips which give me just enough adrenaline pump and enough peace to live next 5 weekdays… This was all different game for me… I will be alone and new roads… Calculate the distance and it gives a magical figure… Pune to Kurnool to Hyderabad = 1000kms. Hyderabad to Narasaraopet to Hyderabad = 440kms and Hyderabad to Pune = 560kms. Hoila that makes 2000kms… I named it MY 2K RUN

    Route Planning

Immediately I started researching about the roads to be taken…

Pune to Kurnool: There is only one option. Pune – Solapur – Akkalkot – Gulbarga – Sedam – Mahabubnagar – Kurnool… Pune – Sedam is a route preferred for Pune – Hyderabad by some riders only because Solapur – Omerga – Zaheerabad – Hyderabad is bad with potholes and senseless drivers… I researched about the road condition and I read awesome reviews on the route except for the Akkalkot – Hiroli before Aland for 10kms… It’s a pure off-roading stretch or I should say no-roading stretch… Will speak more about it soon. Here I should mention Parvez who gave very detailed inputs on the route and helped me in the planning. So route planning was completed.

Next I inform my friends and family about my plan and the usual responses are:

    • ‘No’
    • ‘You will be tired’
    • ‘Are you crazy?’
    • ‘It’s hell dangerous’
    • ‘680kms one way? It will take three days!!!’
    • ‘Book a bus and sleep peacefully’

Burden lies on me to make my parents agree to the plan, I tried and tried and tried finally they agreed if I have some company to tag along… I did a half jump!! I can lie about the company Friends are still on the same page, it’s okay many doesn’t understand why I bought a bike which is worth more than a Nano and then they don’t understand why I own a jacket which is worth a holiday trip So all they keep saying is ‘Tu Pagal hai’, I disagree Humshakals (movie) style…
Discussed the plan with few other riders and tourers also. Xbhp Forum and Pune riders helped me in gaining some knowledge on long rides… And well I am still tensed to make the ride and we never give up don’t we… Thanks Sandeep (XBhp Pune) for the gel seat it helped me a lot during long saddle hours… I am getting one for myself once I am back to Pune. Start time on February 13th has been pushed from 3AM to 5AM because of all the winter chills and foggy highways… I prepared a checklist before day to uncheck before the ride just to make sure everything is going right for the first time. I had the map screenshots taken on phone of the key junctions and deviations I should be alert about.

    Final Plan

    • Day: February 13th 2016
    • Time: 5:00 AM
    • Distance: 687kms
    • Planned duration: 12hrs
    • Riding Gear: Studds Shifter (Dual Visor) Helmet, DSG Evo (All weather) Jacket, DSG Primal (Full Gauntlet) Gloves, AXO Knee Guards.
    • Luggage: Backpack with Bungee Cord
    • Essentials: All legal documents, Water, Parle-G, Medicines, First Aid kit, Tool kit, Chain lube.

I will post learnings from the ride once I write the blog on the first chapter after approval… Few pics for teasers...

Thanks buddy... Safety is the first check list I do before I start on a ride... Coz after an exciting ride I would definitely need to come back home to discuss about it...

Thanks Akash... Welcome to Pune mate... This is an exciting place for riders..

Route from Hyderabad to Pune: Hyderabad - Pargi - Sedam - Gulberga - Aland - Akkalkot - Solapur - Pune

Go for it... Be prepared for some 20-30 mins of No-roading... It's not as tiring as any off roading.. Go slow and easy... PM me for more suggestions...
