Default Travelogue PUNE -MUMBAI -Solo Ride

    Travelogue PUNE -MUMBAI -Solo Ride
Hello Guys, here I am Ashish with u again sharing my solo bike ride from Pune to Mumbai. Recently I had shared my Pune-Aurangabad travelogue, and thanks to xBHP for approving it. As usual I am working person so have a less time to go for a ride so I am only going for it with some of my work. And the work is here, so I am ready with my Pulsar 200NS.

It was Saturday, a little bit work loaded day in office still I managed to get permission of leaving early from office and a next day leave. Before 2days ago I got my bike serviced and cleaned neatly so that there will be no issues in the ride.
It was 4 o’clock in the evening and I left from my office to my home. I was checking for the weather and had some fear of worst rains going on in Mumbai, but it looks pleasant in Pune with some cloudy sky and no chances of rain. Then only I decided to go on bike. Still I put on my jacket with a thin raincoat over it to protect myself from rain. I just quickly lubricated my bike chain with Motul chain lube which I had and checked bike thoroughly for any issues.
    At 5 o’clock in evening:
Around 5 o’clock in evening I left my place, fully packed with jacket and my sack, covered with raincoat. The plan was going from Mumbai Pune old highway to Panvel. So I started my journey from Ravet and from there to old Mumbai Pune highway. Helmet, jacket, gloves, raincoat, I am all equipped with this. Starting my ride, really very pleasant whether no chances of rain and fresh air which will fill you with full of nature fragrance. It was really enjoyable, when you ride your bike with just a little throttle and its swifts away, Full stable on 80kmph and no problems in controlling on 100kmph itself, so it feels really good to have comfort with riding pleasure.
So going with my full own safety and following road safeties. As I had previous ride to Lonavla with really nice group of bike riding friends MH Riders, Restless Riders, and a group from Mumbai Flying Squad, and the legend “Harteij Bhartesh”, I don’t know how many of us know him, but as I met him, he is good person, a cancer survivor and enjoying his passion for some generous cause i.e., cancer awareness, called it as a “Ride Of Hope”. Hats off to this man. It was my first ride with group, I learned lot of things from them and got nice friends

    Filling up and Starting Again:

Staring my journey again, filled up my full tank on a petrol pump near Talegaon Dabhade. I am ready to leave as I know my pulsar will return from Mumbai with this much of petrol. As I am going near to Lonavla and God changes his mood, aaaahhhh….. it started raining heavily, as if there will be no rains after this. I can feel the water drops striking on my helmet visor with very loud sound. I felt it how difficult to ride without helmet in such a heavy rain. The roads were like butter and upar se rain …. What a feel it was! I was in Lonavala, always crowdie in this season. So just managed to go out of city after some traffic troubles, and again the curvy roads with up and downs hilly area, rain will be always there to forget you the traffic of Lonavala. There is one way to Khopoli through old highway, which you will not understand it quickly if you are new to this road. I had stop there, had some Chai and rinsed some water from my gloves and my raincoat, checked my phones and they were fully dry. Here is one pic which I took there and some pics which are not taken by me but expressing the beauty of nature there.

    Khopoli misleading:
There you have to find that Chhupa way on old highway, otherwise you will end up and find yourself on expressway, where bikes are not allowed. So carefully I took that turn and on the way to Khopoli, which has good turning roads and full of natural beauty. As I reached to Khopoli, I saw one bus and a RE owner who has Mumbai passing on his bike. They took left turn so I got confused there and I too taken that left. I had some doubts in mind that I might lost my road so decided to ask somebody. I saw two boys of age around 15, and I asked them for Mumbai road, they said that I have go to pali fata and then take right turn. I was still not sure about what they told me, so asked them twice is it the right way and has less distance? And they said yes. I trust them, which costs me 5 kms of wrong way. Huhhh.. fortunately, after some distance I asked one guy again for Mumbai road and he said, the last left which I took was wrong. So I had to go back and go through the straight road. I took u turn and thought on it why I asked the guys who even don’t know about their places and distance. Crazy!! I made sure once again asking the policeman for Mumbai road. And finally I am on track.

    Khopoli to Panvel:
From Khopoli to Mumbai the road is really good and it was only 6:30 in clock so I am riding quite comfortably. But as soon as I am going towards Mumbai sunset is close and it is getting dark. I switched on my bike headlight and continued to Panvel. When I reached to Panvel, where I took one more stop. The rain is still going on in Panvel so I can’t see the road sign boards clearly I am not supposed to lost my way one more time. I opened my Gmaps searched for Airoli where I want to go and traced one way i.e. JNPT bypass road to Kalmboli. I headed to that road. The road is really in bad condition due the continuous and heavy Mumbai rains. It doesn’t have the streetlights also. I stopped near the Toll Naka where I see the guy with RE Himalayan riding behind me. He was the same guy whom I seen when I took a stop at Panvel. I was riding right in back of him. After travelling some distance, he shown me the road pit by hand signal. So I managed to miss it. I talked to him from he was and where he was going.

JNPT Bypass and bad Mumbai Roads:

And suddenly after little talk, he left in front of me, he missed a big half feet hole on road and I was in that… husshhhhh.. my bike got uncontrolled and I felled from my bike. After hearing the crashing sound, he stopped his bike returned to me, before that I stood up, switched off my bike engine. He helped me to lift my bike up and get it out of road. He asked me if I had some injuries, but thanks to proper safety gears no harm to me but bike had some injuries, right hand side mirror cracked, RH leg guard bent and rear brake pedal bent which I came to know after. Then he talked with me for while then we decided to go. After Kalmboli he was going straight and I have to take a left turn. After that left I was going quite safely as I came to know very poor headlight of my bike. Through Mumbai traffic and rain finally I made the way to Airoli at around 9:15pm.

Return journey from Mumbai to Pune:

picture i took in Khopoli Ghat:

My work got finished in Mumbai and I left on Monday morning 5 o’clock. The rain is still going on there. when I was near to Toll Naka, I saw one guy pushing his pulsar in such a rain so I turned my bike and asked him for a help. He said his bike was not starting so could I give a push. So I toed his bike from that toll naka to Kalmboli where he thanked me for my help, and I left for my return journey. After crossing Panvel no rain was there. So I quickly reached to Khopoli where I took some pics of nice waterfalls and hills. And then through Lonavala morning fog I made my way towards Pune.
Picture shows foggy ghat roads of khandala.

Around 8 o’clock I reached to Pune safely.

    Speed: 100kmph TOP

    60 kmph average

Varying as the road condition speed breakers and traffic.

Mileage: I got a good mileage of 48 kmpl overall.

Pics are beautiful. Are they taken by mobile cam or a proper cam?
I wouldn't be surprised if they're cellphone pics.

Oh, in that case please add the name of the source where you take the pics from. Otherwise, it maybe classified as plagiarism.

Nice log Ashish. But, I'd suggest you to upload pictures from whatever you have taken yourself. Google pictures might look better but pictures taken by self feels better!
Wishing you many happy rides like this!
