Default Trip To Chandipur from BBSR

    Hi Friends,

This is my first trip on my new ZMA after spending 17 mths on my modified splendor. Also this is my first Travellogue.Since the bikers from BULLZ were all busy this weekend i took the trip and covered 447 kms with a night stay. The roads were pretty good untill BBSR to Bhadrak and from Bhadrak To Balasore it was not so good since its under repair. Hope the moderators approve my thread so that i can post the pics and the rest of the log.

    Smile Trip Log

Me and my Friend Shomu went to sleep after watching a really nice Bengali movie on Friday night. Shomu was really excited since he is going on a trip after a long time(may be after a year or so). We slept sharp at 1am with my mobile beside my setting the alarm at 4.30am.I woke up after 2 alarms and my friend too woke up in a short while. Hurriedly took bath and finished my morning activities and within 20 mnts we were ready. We went to Tirthankar's place since 3 of our friends had planned to go in a car. After we went there my lazy brothers were still packing stuffs. The car driver was already ready. We started sharp at 6.20am. I had decided that i will fill up my tank from the Rasulgarh petrol pump. As i was riding, the chill air was showing its wildness and my hands were shivering the most. I filled up the tank, and i understood(though much later) a good quality petrol from an authentic petrol pump makes a lot of difference to the bike's mileage.Anyway,as soon as i crossed Mahanadi and entered NH5 i was literally astonished to see the kind of fog which had stopped my vision within 100 mts distance.I had to slow down my bike and i was going at 50-55 kmph with the head lights on.This time it was even more painful to bear the cold temperature but i managed to continue my ride. Eventually i crossed this 23kms distance (BBSR-Cuttack) in almost 45 mnts.I reached Cuttack before the car and as i was standing on the road side tea shop Shomnath called me up and i informed him the location where i was. I was desperate to warm my hands and i saw a group of truck drivers were sitting around some burning woods. I joined them and took a sip to the hot Tea which Shomnath brought for me.With the first puff of Classic Mild i gained energy for the rest of the journey. We started again sharp at 7.20am.

This time the roads were much more clear and NH5 gave me the oppurtunity to rush my ZMA at constant speed of 90-95 kmph. After going ahead of almost 55 kms, i thought of checking the tyre pressure at a road side shop and over here i got a big surprise. The man who came forward to check the tyre pressure asked me in hindi "sir yeh bike Dhoom picture me ayaa thaa na?" I dont know what did he see me in my face but he was convinced that this was the one. Man,i felt so good. I know i wont be able to buy a R1 or R6 at least for the next 10 yrs, but this stranger made me feel much much prouder of my new ZMA.Shomnath sitting at my back commented " Yatida ZMA jug jug jioh". With full josh i rode my ZMA with a speed range between 95-110 kmph. The scenary along the roads were also really pleasing. At times the fields were totally barren, sometimes the fields were totally green, sometimes i could see the fields filled up with different coloured flowers.

The car with my 3 friends had gone ahead in the mean time, and i wanted to enjoy my ride after travelling for almost 85kms.I slowed down at one point where i saw that a canal was constantly following me on the left hand side. I wanted to explore beyond that. And Finally I got a small lane to cross it which leads to a village. Shomnath too was favoring the idea to explore and I went ahead to discover a small village. We went ahead for almost 5 kms until the road ended, and we decided to come back. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the ride through the village roads and the scenic beauty around. It was so calm with no mechanical sound around(except my bike), and we could here all sorts of birds chattering all the time. Finally when the thought came to my mind that we are definitely getting late, we rushed back on the road and reached Bhadrak town. Our friends in the car were waiting but they too didnt reach quite earlier. We had our breakfast and started again. This time the roads were a misery. The condition was not so good since they are still in the process of making it 2 ways and I had to take diversions within 4-5 kms distance and finally it resulted in longer time. We reached the Balasore town and as usual faced pathetic traffic on the streets. Finally reached Pantha Nivas at 11.am approx.
My bike gave a mileage of 40 kmpl and thats what I call a good quality petrol and also going in constant speed.

Enjoyed the day throughout, played football in the beach since the beach extends upto 3 kms before the sea starts. Had a beautiful lunch in a hotel with very low quality rice.

It was superb in the night when we sat in the sea beach with beer bottles but no snap was taken during that time since there was very dim light.
Came back the next morning through the same road.

@Yatishankar: It seems the pillion didn't have a lid. Not good, I say. If possible, please remove the lid-less pictures.

    Thanks.
