Talking A must read first road trip from hyd !!!!

i am writing this just as i got back home from the village with out even a second's delay...so that every thing can be put down with out missing any events..

my first road trip was to my ancestral house...
a very long story but a very very interesting one..
enjoy as u read on... lots of surprises...

located near 'eluru',is my dad's village , 'kaikaram' in andhra pradesh...
    about ~360 km from hyderabad...

it's our family custom to celebrate the marrage of lord Rama and Sita in our own temple
    once every year(sita raamula kalyanam)...
all our family members come there and the is celebrated very grandly

so this was held in the feb this year but unfortunately i couldn't go
as i had 4 internals on one single day...(damn j.n.t.u)

so went to the collage, but was 5min late to the exam and the mo@#*@fu#%*ng invigilator did not let me in...
heavily pissed off,i started home along with my friend who was also late to the exam...

the previous week i had been telling that very friend abt that function, etc...
so he asked me on the way back from the coll if i was going there that evening...
then came the really stupid(but rather exciting) brain wave of a crazy road trip...

so then and there i thought of going to my village and with no delay started sorting out money...
the total came upto ~800 bucks...(500 mine + ~300 friends)..
left that guy at l.b.nagar and started of to my village with nothing else but 800 bucks,my cell phone and my bike...
the function already started that very morning so thought of reaching there by 4 pm...

it was 12:00pm when i decided to go at the l.b.nagar junction...
filled 350rs of petrol, had the air checked, had a red bull and started off...
that was the first time i ever stepped on the 'vijayawada' highway..
never went to my village by road, always by train,so did not even know the route...

all i knew was that it is some 20mins away from vijayawada...
as for the bike,it was in a 50-50 state... clocked 46k kms, switched from motul 5100 to
castrol power one the previous week..so the bike was very rough and 110 was like a dream(which was child's play when i used 5100)
also the rear brake shoes were worn out..but none of these stopped me...

started of by 12:15pm and went about 150~175 km after which i stopped for a bike wash...
(stopped ocasionally for enquireing for bike washes at various villages)
after which i started again after stopping for abt 20 mins...
constantly maintaining a speed of 80~90 kmph ocasionally crossing 100...
to my surprise all the lorry drivers were driving very systamatically also giving side to overtake when honked at...
but the mo$#^* fu$#ing RTC bus drivers showed their idiocy even on the high ways...

    some unlucky fellow

one 18wheeler was coming from the opp direction on a very narrow road(2 lane only which is the same till vijayavada)
There was an rtc bus which just showed from behind of this lorry with intentions of overtaking...
so obviously slowed down to abt 30kmph...all this was when the lorry was just 6 bike lenghts...
so dipping my head light continously was passing the cockpit part of the lorry whole the bus was peeing from behind the lorry..
(which he was doing from a dist)..

and as soon as the cockpit passed the bus came on me overtaking the lorry..(both of them were at at very slow speeds)
there was no road for me to go as a part of the bus itself went offroad on my side too...
he was seeing me the whole time dipping and i could see him to.. don't know what got into the mofu...
so at point of time i had no option but to go seriously offroad...
so avoiding the bus and trying to go the bumpy heavely sand covered offroad part passed the bus when came a very norrow and deep bump..
trying not to skid did not break hard thought to fly it off..
but the front tyre fell in that u-shaped hole and the handle turned left and obviously i was on the road..
wouldn't have happened if i was a bit fast...

so the crash guard bent and i got hurt on my right elbow(as i was not wearing any riding gear exept for my healmet),a rather big wound but not so deep...
stopped at a dabha furlong away to wash the wound, cursing that fu@#%ng bus driver all the way..
the dabha cook was kind enough to wash my wound and there was no first aid with them, applied a lot of tumeric(pasupu)...
after eating(which was not a part of the plan, but had to after all the hospitality that the guy showed me) started off..
all this took me some 30 min...and stopped at few places to get the leg guard straightened..

reached vijayawada by some time around 5'O clock..
stopped at a filling station to clean the wound with some peroxide and left it as they had no other
first aid...filled some 50 bucks wprth petrol as the fuel needle was near "e"...
so started off to thinking that the village is abt 20 mins away...

went for abt 20 mins realising that i just reached hanuman junction..
and stared off thinking that my village would be around the corner...
so just to make sure that i don't miss any turns(as that was the first time ever went by road to my village)
    stopped at a police checkpost...
and that guy casually said "yenta.oka rendu gantalu untadi ante...sumaru 80 km,eluru tavata rendo uru"(just 2hrs away only, rougly 80 km,second village after eluru)
shocked (but thrilled),started off... this was when i had some 50 bucks left and the fuel needle touching the upper part of 'E'..
it started getting dark... and did not see any petrol bunks after that, were few but those had no petrol...

i was around 6:00 pm when god showed all his humor....
it stated to DRIZZLE!!!! (at least that's what i thought)..
couldn't help laughing and went ahead...
at that point of time i was going on and on,fuel needle touching the lower part of 'E'...
it got dark,no lights on the high way..an ocassional car passing me or me passing a lorry..

there was an instance where i was the only person and no one else visible to my eyes all around me...
not even a village, not any traffic, not evev birds...only the never ending road and my baby uni...
it was like that for abt 10 whole mins and me going around 80kmph..
at that point of time i thought i was dreaming... seriously imagining "I AM LEGEND"

and as if the situation wasn't exiting enough, with no petrol,no batt in the cell,no cash.. i couldn't see any thing
as my bike had a stupid halonix white bulb, and i had a dark visor glass for my healmet...so result is that i couldn't see for more than 2 bike lenghts ahead of me..
i couldn't opean the visor as it was drizzling...

but ther was something very fishy abt the drizzle...
very very fishy as it was highly irregular, hitting very hard (i thought it was due to the speed),
and also my healmet visor getting covered up with black spots ( which i thought was some debry+water droplets from some lorry that passed before me)
was going on with that puny light, not able to see any thing, and with a bonus of my visor being covered up..
went for a while but found no lorry... and then got suspesious and opened my visor...

to my surprise it was no rain...
    they were all Flies!!!!
it seems that they are smoked out of the fields every evenig and hence end up on the highway getting attracted to the haed lights...
with very less visibility and some oncoming villagers on cycles, coming on the wrong side in the dark giving me the creeps, reached my village at around 6:30...
went straight to our temple and removed the helmet and got the biggest shock of my life after seeing the healmet and the bike..
    fully covered with flies...

all this time no one but my friend knew that i was going to my village...
all my cousins, relatives,my dad already came there that morning..i did not go as i had those stupid internals..
so none of them had even the slighest clue that i was coming..went to the mansion from there, where every one were shocked to see me...
so every one started to scold me..my mum on the other hand was making 'chapatis' for me in hyd..
finally reched and enjoyed 2 days with all of them and on monday night started back to hyd..

    our temple on sunday.....

few picks of my house and it's surroundings....

my bike was put in a volvo's storage on the side of the bus after removing the bike's tank...

came to hyd on tuesday morning, fixed the tank, and went home...

Nice narration...next time, wear a plain visor&some riding gear too!
Btw, how do you say your bike's performance reduced with Power1? I thought it was better than Motul 5100?

    Dogg,

Man, you had me on the floor with laughter. Was wondering how come there is a drizzle in this summer. I was awestuck when I knew what was this drizzle.

You had the typical experience on the NH-9. Next time you ride on this road, if you see an RTC bus trailing behind a lorry, just look for a safe landing on the off-road

You have got to learn how to ride on this highway. Ask me.
