I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my motorcycle.

Yup ken cool, quite unbelievable, but have to adapt according to situations, right? Generally, people dont travel that route during the night and even night-supers (The big buses) get waylaid & looted frequently. It was just the biking spirit that kept us moving. And as far as i am concerned, when i'm on my bike, time and distance loses its meaning. That is passion! he he he...

Anyway, am hoping to put up the writeup of our 2nd day and 3rd day pics tomorrow. Just hope that wont be too busy for that.

Your comments and opinions are very much appreciated!

    Have a Wonderful evening dude!

It was one of these Biker's bridge that left my FZ skidding at night... Very Unreliable surface, especially the log placed over each other. At times, some portion of the wooden bridge would be missing, or rotten. But sure, its different experience altogether. Enjoyed every pot holes, every water crossing and every mud on my pants and shoes....

    Talking

    Day 2

16th of May started at a more leisurely pace as we got up late around 10:00 hrs. After freshening up, we went in search of a petrol-pump to feed the steeds and had breakfast at a local restaurant. I also had to tighten up a bit the chain on my bike because it was giving off a rattling sound.

Then we started of for our next stop Siju, which is in South Garo Hills, Meghalaya. We had hardly traveled for half an hour when it suddenly started raining. We stop for a while and the rain stopped as suddenly as it started.

The trip was really fantastic with a mixture of variety of road including dusty, graveled, sandy, potholed and watery road. The surrounding too was a joy to behold. At times there are betel nut trees all around us and at times we were flanked by huge jackfruit trees and bamboos. We also came across a large number of waterfalls all along the way and in one place; the waterfall was actually flowing over the road.

Around midday we reach the viewpoint of Rongdong Falls at Siju. The waterfall was at a distance from the viewpoint and since we didnt have optical zoom on our camera, we could not get a decent picture of the waterfalls. But, the breathtakingly beautiful Simsang river in the backdrop more than made up for it.

We then visited Devilboys uncle and family who were staying nearby and had a hot cup of tea and snacks there. The surrounding was amazing with tall betel nut trees all around over rolling hills and valleys.

The return trip was started at leisurely pace and before we knew it darkness was already over us. The road was getting worse and worse but we attributed it to the spell of rainfall in the morning. It was when we saw two huge holes filled with water stretching across the road that we realized something was wrong. When we checked from the next signboard we came across, we came to know that we had taken a wrong turn somewhere. On checking from the locals, we understood that we had crossed around 12 Kms on a wrong path.

We had to turn back again and finally came to the junction from where we had taken the wrong road. At this point I was leading and Devilboy was following me when he gave the signal for me to slow down. While overtaking me, he shouted over the roar of the machines that he was feeling a bit uneasy and would lead from there. So, I let him take the lead and followed him while we lapped up the road at a faster pace as the road was much better that side. Then, while we were crossing across one of those bridges that were laid with thick wooden plank, Devilboys bike skidded and toppled over a place where one of the planks was broken, but he was quick enough to adjust and prevented the bike from hitting the ground. Surprisingly, he then told me that he was feeling fine and asked me to lead again. Finally, we reached the guesthouse safely and quickly freshened up again as we had received an invitation from a friend for dinner. We even washed our boots with water as they were thickly encrusted with mud.

We had expected a simple dinner, but to our utter surprise, our friend had already arranged appetizers (Hard & Soft drinks) and lavish dinner. Since we were not planning on any more biking we enjoyed the treat and the lavish dinner our friend has prepared for us and left the place with buzzed up heads. Ha ha ha

As we were already tired, we hit the sack as soon as we reached the guesthouse and went out in a flash.

    End of Day-2! Enjoy!
