    Mumbai - Bangalore is ~1000kms.

As you said you want to do it in a day then the straight NH4 route is best suited, apart from a slightly broken down 200kms stretch between Hubli-Chitradurga the rest of the roads are best suited for some WOT fun Total travel time would be close about 16+ hours at about steady speeds of 100.

Else, you can opt for a longer but more scenic coastal route via NH 17. That would take two days in total as its over 1200 kms and all on single lane roads.

What else info do you need?

Like praful suggested NH4 is the best bet! sooper smooth roads
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

As you are doing for first time that too on RX135 which isn't a touring bike.
So I think its gonna take atleast 20 hours.
Moreover doing 100+ will not be practical on a RX135 I guess.
NH4 is the safest and fastest bet for sure.

I'm assuming this will be your first such a long ride on bike. I'll suggest you to break the ride into two legs, specially that RX will be a bit buzzy @ continuous high speeds.

I'll suggest Mumbai - Hubli as leg 1, some 600 odd km's. Take a night halt. Next day morning, fresh, start to take on the bad stretch between Haveri and Chitradurga, due to rains it could be in a a bit more bad state. To reach Bangalore in proper day time. The distance would be around 400km's.

Hi Atul - you could have called me I do this route on a near-weekly basis

Mumbai - Pune (take bypass or else you will be f****d) - Satara - Kolhapur - Belgaum - Hubli - Davangere - Chitradurga - Tumkur - Nelamangala - Bangalore

Pune bypass is very easy to miss because you have to take a Right turn off the highway. Going straight on will take you into the city traffic.

At normal riding speeds you will reach Pune in 3 hours. From here it is 1.5 hours to Satara and 1.5 hours to Kolhapur. About 6-7 hours to reach Kolhapur. Kolhapur to Belgaum is 1.5 hours and from here to Hubli is another hour or so.

Hubli to Bangalore goes through some bad patches but only up to Chitradurga. From Chitradurga there is an excellent stretch up to Tumkur and again the road conditions deteriorate as you enter the city limits.

So start at 5:00am sharp - if you can stay at someone's place in Belapur or Chembur it will cut down your travel time significantly. Reach Lonavala and grab a quick bite there. Proceed on to Satara for a short break and then have lunch in Kolhapur. You should be here by 12:00 - 1:00pm. From here the roads become absolutely sensational...you will have to take care not to trash your machinery because you can get carried away in the twisties. You should reach Hubli by 4:00pm. From here it is 6 hours to Bangalore. I suggest grabbing a bite at Hubli even if you aren't hungry because the next suitable stop is a Cafe Coffee Day in Tumkur and you won't get here till 8:00 or 9:00pm.

    Don't get lost in Rannebennur

Better to enter Bangalore a little late...post 10:00pm so that you will miss the traffic.

The idea is - as few stops as possible...don't waste time hanging around and playing the fool. Carry spares...and drinking water.

When are you coming? I am in Bangalore over the weekend...

    Hi,
I agree on all of them NH4 being the best bet if u have a bike that goes fast/real fast and there is no need for you to do anything but Ride fast.....

For chilling and enjoying the roads...take NH17 to GOA 565Kms from Mumbai easily manageable......stay at BAGA...have a beer...next to the sea shore on a nice arm chair.....and the next day ride to Bangalore.....

It will be fun...NH4 is not so much fun...
