  • Help needed for route Maredumilli-Bhadrachalam

    Hi everyone..

This is Ajay from Guntur, AP. I'm planning a bike trip to Bhadrachalam via Maredumilli (forest area). Google maps shows that a direct route doesn't exist between Maredumilli and Bhadrachalam...it says that we have to travel back to rajamundry and then go to bhadrachalam which a lot of distance...

If anyone knows a shorter route kindly let me know...Any other details on this route and places to stay at maredumilli and bhadrachalam are also welcome..

    Ajay

I think there is another way, but it is through the Agency area, so I am not sure if it is open at all times. From Bhadrachalam, you need to take the road Nellipaka and then ask for the Route to Rampachodavaram. Maredumilli is on the way to this place, which is a little more familiar town.

            Hi Ajay

I travelled in that route many times and here is the route

If you are starting from Guntur then Go straight to Rajahmundry its flat out approx 200Km on a beautiful NH-5 then from Rajahmundry take this route to Bhadrachalam

            Rajahmundry - Gokavaram - 35Km

Gokavaram - Rampachodavaram - 25Km (From here the Forest section starts)

Rampachodavaram- Maredumilli - 25Km ( Moderate Forest & Ghat Section)

Maredumilli - Chinturu - 66 Kms (Thick Forest with lot of hairpin bends in Ghat and many 90 degree turns) This is the main Ghat section and this road is not shown in google maps. But this is a regularly used road and is in good condition. BCM to RJY and BCM to VSP APSRTC buses ply on this route regularly so no probs with road.

Chinturu - Nellipaka - 51 Km ( After chituru it connects to NH 221(Vijayawada - Jagdalpur) so not much of forest)

            Nellipaka - Bhadrachalam - 14Km

Total distance Guntur to RJY 200 Kms (Can do this stretch in 2.5 Hrs Road is in prime condition 4 laned NH-5)

RJY to BCM 220 Kms Approx ( This takes approx 5-6 Hrs)
