    Route: Bangalore-Tumkur-Sira-Chitradurga-davanagere-Ranebennur-Hubli-Belagaum-Nippani-Shiroli-karad-Satara-Pune(Take the old highway)-Mumbai

Roads are smooth for the most part of it,except for Chitradurga-Davanagere stretch(Its literally a nightmare).Since you are traveling alone you will require a good apparatus to sooth your ears for a 1100kms.Make sure you cover as much distance during the day.The best idea would be to leave Bangalore by about 2AM,because once the day starts to heat up, it will take a toll on your body.Carry the best rain gear available in town and also a big plastic cover to protect your baggage if it rains. It is better to carry a small tool or a pocket knife since you are traveling alone.Get your machine to be in the best possible condition.Other things to carry are a first aid kit,Tool kit(in case of a break down),a spare can of your engine oil,Cash(in hand better than credit/Debit cards)etc etc....It is advisable to carry a list of Honda Authorized service stations along the way.Happy touring buddy

    Exclamation

are you sure about the one day part?
because its almost a 1000km ride....and with uni you cant take full advantage of the NH4(ie ripping at triple digit speeds)
that would mean riding for more than 16hours out of 24.
not trying to discourage you in any manner. Just wanted to make sure you know what you are attempting

Well yeah i know i cant maintain triple digit speeds but i cn maintain it between 80 & 100..i am taking breaks at every 250 kms.. so i am hoping it wouldnt tire me too much.. i might leave on Friday afternoon and take a break for a couple of hours in the night n then continue further.. so i should be in Mumbai before Saturday afternoon... hope that would do..

I would suggest you do a early morning start (3 AM or so) ride about 650 kms.. (approx 10 hrs) stop for the evening and take a hotel to sleep. Its tough to ride in the nights and maintain good speeds with all the heavy vehicles and blinding lights..Leave again early morning and reach destination by noon. This way your machine and your body will not be too stressed and i read that you are coming back after 2 days..so you will have to be in a good shape when you reach Mumbai ..all the best n hv a funn trip!

Things to carry: Saddle Bags..dont plan on a backpack as this might be stressful on a long journey, good music player with helmet compatible ear phones, first aid, water, rain proofing (plastic covers), toolkit, a good riding jacket and helmet (ofcourse :P)

I've done this trip multiple times, both ways and in cars, jeeps, karizma, MT01 and I think I'll be doing it on a bicycle soon.

    1. You can EASILY do this in a single day
    2. You can hold 90 kph on the Unicorn all day long without any issues
    3. Start at 5:00am from Bangalore
    4. Breakfast at Ranebennur
    5. Lunch at Belgaum
    6. You will reach Mumbai outskirts (Panvel) by 7:00pm.

    After that is anybody's guess.

You can call me if you want to discuss it - 9819090772

It is a piece of cake provided your bike is in good shape and you use Nivea on your ass liberally before you ride out.

Hey guys thanks for all the suggestions. I made it to mumbai & back to Bangalore. yes the ass was a lil sore but the ride wasnt difficult since the roads are super awesome. n the suggetion for music was very helpful..
On my way i experienced the three weather conditions. Rain, Fog & pleasant. ride was awesome. only thing i did feel bad about was when i rode the unicorn between 80 & 90 the average dropped to 40kmpl. & when i was riding between 50 & 60 i was getting around 50. so the fuel budget was a llil messed up..but on the whole it was a successful one..
