Default MRF Zapper S vs MRF Zapper FY2

what is the difference between these two..?

from online reviews i can see zapper s has the best review, but will that be good to replace fy2.?
i guess engineering is different for front and rear tyres. but what will be the pro's and con's. as i can see size are same as well as stock size.
i can see same sizes in both the model, for say 100/80 17 in both zapper S and Zapper FY2. but i guess S is for rear and FY2 is for front. what would be the adverse effect if install zapper S in the front.?

by the way, my bike is Pulsar RS200 and the stock size is 100/80 17 for front and 130/70 17 at Rear.

i am also planning to upgrade the size at rear. so which would be best upgrade..? my ideas are mrf 140/70 17 zapper s(the one used in hornet) and mrf 150/60 17(the one used in duke). the pulsar's rim width is 3.5 inch but duke's is 4 inch, not sure about hornet's.

so basically which upgrade would be best among these..?
also need difference between fy2 and s...

    regards,
    Raghav SSR

Thumbs up Re: MRF Zapper S vs MRF Zapper FY2

    Topic Approved.

You can use a front and rear tyre interchangably as long as they have similar rim size (17 inch, in your case), but then tyres are designed as per their intended usage and so, its not safe!

For example, a rear tyre usually does not have a medium groove, because the front tyre often cuts the sand and water to a side while riding, so that's not needed. But a front needs it so that bikes don't easily slip on rain water. I recommend you to use tyres only as per their intended use.

The tyre used in FZ (140/60) is famous for punctures, so I suggest you go for 150/60 of the Duke 200. The tyre will not expand enough and maybe raise the ride height from the rear a bit, please notice that.

And FY2 and S have not much difference except that they came in Yamaha R15 version 1.0 as front and rear tyre (it was FY only back then, but looked similar).
It had sizes 80/90x17 and 100/80x17.

@Sherl; sorry for the delayed response.

i have upgraded the size with 140/70-r17 for my rear(stock size is 130/70 r17).
mrf zapper s is the one which i chose over masseter as i am not that much into cornering or race course or track riding. for daily ride, i feel zapper s is better in durability and okay for the grip as per my expectation. my stock zapper s lasted for 28k kilometers. my front tyre stilll running without any punctures. i just love mrf atleast for its durability.

    zapper s 140/70 r17 is rupees 2800
    masseter 140/70 r17 is rupees 3500

    regards,

The best front and rear tyres from my personal experience

Front: Zapper FY1 or FY2 whichever is available for your rim size. This tyre grips, grips, grips and... grips
Rear: Zapper vyde, again which suits your rim size. The grip of this tyre is phenomenal.
