    Default One side tyre wear

    Hello all.
Lately I'm noticing weird wearing of the rear tyre(Rosso II) of my bike(Duke 390). It's very bad that one side has worn out so much that it will be useless in few hundreds of kilometers, while the other side of the tyre is still very much new. Would like to know the causes of it? And any ways by which I can use this tyre still for some time.

The wheel alignment may be off, or it is unbalanced. Plus lower (incorrect) tyre pressures can cause this.

Also road Chambers on our roads lead to wear on right side. While you are at it, do check the wheel bearings

I had this exact same issue in my KTM RC 200 but on the front tyre. The front right side was so worn out and I couldn't take it anymore and changed it just yesterday. Sorry couldn't get pictures. Now I have changed to Michellin Pilot Street. Stock MRFs were pathetic, I had to get rid of rear within 15k KMS.

I am worried, I have spent 5K on the new tyre and don't want to ruin it. Should I balance the wheel? Since OP and me are from Bangalore, is there something related to Bangalore roads?

I have the same issue in the rear Tyre of my bike. It has nothing to do with Bangalore. It's a widely known issue in bikes, but unfortunately there are not much discussions going on in this particular topic. Also, tyre shops and service centre mechanics are not giving much importance to this issue unlike cars.

Which tyre brand are you using and on which bike? How long (KMs) it took for you to observe the difference in tyre wear?

I got so used to ride with one side tyre wear, now after chaing the tyre I am struggling a lot to adapt to the new tyre.

It's MRF Zapper S 140/70 on 200NS. It took more than 20000 kms for me to observe the difference in tyre wear.

Have you checked with tyre shop/service centre to know the reason for the same?

I have had this issue with Rosso 2 on my RC390, seen mainly in front, very slightly in rear aswell.
I was suspecting all issues with bike alignment etc etc.

Then I checked with another friend who had the exact tyre on his Mojo, guess what! He has the exact problem with his front and slight difference in rear!

So not sure I am guessing it be with either the way each tyre is made or some kind of manufacturing bad batch of tyre defect leads to this (like uneven soft rubber distribution on both sides or bad compound or left got different material and right etc etc)
