    Tanmay,

    theres some confusion.

    hatari meant tht,
you should use the normal tyres, thts the grooved ones which we use normally.

He thought tht the bald tyres (as u mentioned) as the tryes used in SBK racing which have no grooves, so he advised you not to use those type of tyres.

    hope you understood

    Sorry for replying late dude...
well the average drop should not be much, around 5-6 kmpl. thats because of the bigger contact patch...so more friction and the other factor will be the weight of these tyres ( Barracuda ). Being tubeless they are heavier than the normal tyres...I suggest u go for the Michelin M45 4.00 inch tyres...they are made of soft tyre compund and are very light weight. I did not find ANY mileage drop on my Karizma when I changed my Zapper to the M45.

Will this mileage drop damage the engine in the long run???

yeah, 1 more thing that this post reminded me. Is the chain cover purely a cosmetic part, or does removing it compromise safety in any way, like increase the risk of chain coming off or something... coz man u dont want that to happen!!!

no, there wont be any effect on engine performance or engine life...the tyre wont load the engine so much so as to damage it...

The Michelin M45 is an excellent tyre in terms of size, grip and even looks. CErtainly better than the Zapper. On the ZMA, u'll need to remove the chain guard. And believe me the fat looks of the tyre along with the naked chain looks too good...
    The grip is excellent too...

** I still prefer the Zapper for wet roads...

Ace bhai, I would suggest u go for the Michelin tyres.
The Michelin M45 tyre is made of soft compound which makes it a lot lighter and at the same time gives u a contact patch almost equal to that of the 120
Because of the lesser weight there is not much drop on the avg. too, actually on my zma I got an increase in the avg. by around 2 kmpl.
but if only a tubeless is on your mind, I suggest go for the Maxxis Barracuda than the Duro.
