well i ve been waiting to upgrade my p150 and wen i thought what could be my next bike only two things came to my mind the R15 and the ninja ..the R15 although good is bad in the city with no low end torque and its too much of a track focussed bike and ninja is out of my reach .. i am really expecting next gen pulsars in 2011 all of them upgraded to four valves and of course the p250 with all the bells and whistles ... is it too much to expect ???

With 'Bajaj' there is nothing like too much. They keep on upgrading their models faster than any other manufacturer cause may be any, market competition or fault in a newly launched bike.

Nope, But seems like the speculation just started a little late ... So you have to wait ... A little longer even :P I am just not sure how Bajaj, Will rush this into April's BIG releases scene Though people have said that testing beta and R&D have been happening for a long time ... April's just a short span ... But if it happens! CC calculators will definitely boycott CBR, like how they thought on Ninja's :P Bajaj's pricing will be the game

Its heard that the new R15 will feature low end torque too, This month will confirm that too

The 250cc-300cc market :
Already available:Kawasaki Ninja 250r

Confirmed launches :
Honda CBR250R - curtains are up,prices are declared yet to see one on road.

Mahindra Mojo 300 - same as above.

Speculated launches :

Bajaj Pulsar 250 or 300 - well,testing and development has already been reported,thing is it will likely enter a competitive market with competitive pricing.

Suzuki GW250 - China has already witnessed its specs and price on a first hand scale.........thing is how it will alter for India.Its speculated price range in China equals 1.40-1.70 lacs by INR.Powered by DOHC 4valves per cylinder 250cc engine.Awaiting an April launch throughout all Asian markets.Designed like a Bking with ultra show of muscle,this bike is going to be one of the impressive 250s.

Yamaha R4/YBR 250/FZ 300 - Yamaha's new 250cc has gone under a lot of speculation,and the recent testing pictures of what is being doubted as new revamped R15 is quite big to be a R15...........so in all considerations it is probably a Fazer with 250cc or 300cc heart.

TVS Apache RTR 250 - Well TVS was the first company to show a fully blown Vtwin 250cc concept in the country way back then it was called Taurus...........but after that the market had witnessed aggressive machines,starting with Hyosung Comet and ending in R15.................So whether TVS would offer a new radical 250cc or rest on its concepts would be a matter of serious speculation.

Hyosung Comet GT250R- Garware motors brought in the biggies,I wonder if their business psychology would permit them to venture lower into the quarter litre territory and resurrect the Comet 250cc mania once again.As this bike had already been in India............it has a fan following in all metro cities.

So what becomes of legendary Hero Honda and its fan's dreams for the 250cc market ???
Well Hero motors have technical support of Honda till 2014 so they can have the insight for boring out a 300cc mill like the CB300R and prove that they can do with or without little help of Honda............I wish them best of luck.


Below 250cc market:
Well this place is saturated..........what awaits this place is a little trick here and a bit of tip there.

1.TVS RTR180 Fi - TVS can use the Fi on the RTR180 to deliver a performance that everyone is missing since the Pulsar 220 DTSFi was withdrawn from the market.Introduction of real performance enhancing kits would keep all RTR owners happy even if they do not get 3 valve or 4 valve engines.

2.Bajaj Pulsar 220 4V/180 4V- The 21 bhp bike would then be breathing on the shoulders of its own 250cc elder brother..........hence wont be a very logical upgrade.Rather the extra valves can be used to deliver better FE.Same goes for P180 or it will run down 220 too.


Well I better not expect anything as upgrade of either R15 or ZMR,because R15 already has performance enhancers and CDi kits to unleash around 22bhp and Hero motors has already imparted the ZMR everything........and without Honda they won't for time being touch the model at all.

The 150cc territory in and around :

1.Yamaha Fazer with 165cc engine - more torque,more bhp(16Nm/16PS .........not into R15 territory but a powerful tourer,wont be a bad idea at all to use that Gladiator 165cc sports concept engine now.

2.Hero stickers for 150cc ranges,digital meters for Achiever and CBZ-X or maybe one of those models would be withdrawn as a whole.R&D needs more attention now.

3.TVS Flame 150- Since long TVS hasn't gifted the market any commuter 150cc.........they need such a product now..........and maybe developing too,lets speculate

4.New Suzuki 150cc bike- well we can always expect one or two,as they have technologies of liquid cooled DOHC 150cc mills with power ranging from 16.5bhp to 20bhp

5.Honda CBR150R- CB Dazzler is not CBR150R,the market always have space for something this special.And yes please withdraw Dazzler but don't kill Unicorn.

125 - 135 cc segment: This segment has enough..........speculating here is like doing unwanted and boring official formalities.But there would always be some desire for KTM 125,R125,GSX125R.

100cc segment :

The only speculated product is a new 100cc bike from Suzuki.........and it will come for sure,if not soon already.

Apart from this there is the Multi-cylinder market with line-up available but launch in India pending and the scooter market which will see new products from Suzuki and Yamaha apart from usual players like Honda,Mahindra and TVS.

I agree to you bro...even though I am die hard fan of the sports bike....I would prefer the electric bike over them provided they are designed like sportsbike and produce decent power in comparison to the > 200 cc machines present in our country today.

After going through the latest edition of Bike India mag today which always brings in credible news and pre launch stuffs,

I have learnt few breaking news :

1st Breaking News- The KTM Duke 125cc that had been showcased for European markets is already on the speculation list,but a bigger and shocking news that,KTM will offer India something more in this package for us.
KTM believes that the 17PS 125cc engine is only for Europe as there is speed and bhp restrictions over there which doesn't allow low displacement learner motorcycles with more power,but there is no such restriction for India,so KTM is planning a 200cc instead of 125cc in the Duke heart and the mill is rumored to put out 22-24bhp With 130kg weight and that amount of power even the upcoming breed of 250-300cc is going to suffer some red ear moments .The price expected is also sub 1.5 lacs OTR !!!!!

2nd Breaking News- The new R15 is aggressively styled with finally getting the commuter rear end replaced by Supersports looking rear.R15 will now look upmarket like R125 and would sport more comfortable seating posture and maybe a couple of Bhp bumps.

3rd Breaking News- The Yamaha 250cc would be something from the FZ line up.FZ250 with single cylinder LC4V engine,belting power out in 25-26 bhp zone.Yamaha service centre mechanics are already being trained for this bike.

4th Breaking News- The Bajaj Pulsar 250cc would look like the Pulsar 135 LS,only much bigger.With similar engine character,upgraded to Liquid cooled,250cc and 4V.That means it will be a good looker,since Pulsar 135 looks good too only very small...........with more muscle it would surely look mean.

I hope after so many breaking news,people with bikes only few months old are really broken now But India is soon gonna see Biking taken to a next level.

The other speculative news thats doing rounds in Xbhp are :

1.TVS-BMW tie-up !!!!! - Think of a F200R with BMW sourced technology and TVS refined DOHC engine !!!! There would be many takers of a BMW small engined bike...........and also of S1000RRs that TVS might just induct into their racing legacy !!!!!! Well if Bajaj can bring in the KTM then why not TVS go for the Bimmer

2.400cc Diesel Bike from Hero motors !!!! - Hero motors,previously Hero Honda had always kept Indian populace in mind.With increasing Fuel prices,many people would like a Fuel which would be cheaper,the answer is Diesel and if its a 400cc we can think the amount of torque that is going to be put down and the BHP well be very much around 30PS............now thats enough to show Honda the Hero way !!!!!

Keep speculating,OEMs are gifting motorcycles to Indians now

Wrong, those that are capable of more than 40KMPH, need to be registered. Like mine that does max 60...

Good attempt,but as speculated,Pulsar 135LS was just a test of how the market accepts the basic line design of the 250cc and use the 4V tech on a Bajaj for the first time.

So,building the image on that,
1.The Pulsar 250 may or may not have a semi fairing,but a muscular looking head set on the lines of P135LS.

2.Monoshock,may or may not be there.But honestly speaking,LS would look better if it had a mono-shock,so mono-shock maybe expected.

3.Somehow,the above graphic design lacks volume and aesthetics.............the 250 would definitely pump up volume so that the bike looks all rounded up !!!!! And these are possible by pumping up scoops,panels,console and beefing up the chassis of the LS to hold the speeds and characteristics of a 250cc machine.

Overall the Pulsar 250,as I assume would be a much more drool friendly package.

Wow,and TVS has already shown a concept called X-Fossil,so let's speculate them(if possible ) after the Earth enters the fossil age again after 2012
