@Hyd guys: I had been to Abids yesterday&had a look at the helmet shops. I was a bit shocked to find that LS2/Shadow are being sold for Rs.5K!
The other place where they are available is Biking Terminal, Somajiguda, but that is only about Rs.200 less.
I don't know why Hyderabad shops sell at such high prices.
Pune ProBiker had given me a reason for this-something to do with octroi, but it just bounced over my head!
Anyways guys moral of the story is if you wanna buy low end lids, its ok, but for high end lids, Hyderabad is not the cost effective option.
Btw, I really like the finish on the Studds Chrome!
    Quench my thirst with gasoline!

    hello,
    I stay in Khar West,Mumbai.
Is there any helmet shop close by ? Or maybe in Oshiwara/Versova/Andheri ?
I am looking for one under 3k.
I already have a tinted LS2 but need a helmet with a clear visor for night/rains.
Do open face helmets provide protections against rains ? I wear glasses so need them covered otherwise they get wet and I can't see a thing.

verral in mumbaiG2G thread is visiting AH helmets tomarrow he is asking for company, you can join him.
i would never go for openface helmets then it depends how comfortable you are in openface helmet, b
ut you are willing to 3-4k go for fullface helmets.
Try it yourself but there are hardly any good models in openface lids.
what difference will it make in rain if it is full face or open face lid.

Like @sagarraikar said. From rain, open face or full face are same. More important is do they shut properly where the visor meets the shell on the forehead portion. Most cheaper ones have gaps and water seeps inside the visor. Expensive ones are properly shut and no water seeps in.

Regarding open face, there are some good ones. Though a bit expensive. Got one for my cousin just a few days back for 9k. There is a sort of a rubber lining running the entire length of the forehead portion that completely shuts when visor is pulled down making seepage impossible. I posted a picture two pages back.

I use both full face and open face, depending on where I'm riding. If you plan to keep just one. A full face will be a better option.

Well I have been following the thread for a while, and the mass inclination towards LS2 for almost everyone was slowly pushing me towards the helmet as well. The fact that its a good quality helmet as well as affordable didnt hurt either. So off i went to JC road to get myself a LS2 phobia, while on my way i was telling myself to not be tempted by sparx at all. I couldnt afford to buy an 8K helmet specially when my transfer is less than 15 days away. At the back of my head were thoughts of not being able to buy a good helmet at delhi when my ninja would be ready for delivery.
The moment i was at helmet world all the promises made to myself were forgotten. The jacket and a new pair of gloves could wait . I just had to buy the rebel, the helmet thats mesmerised me ever since i first lay my eyes on it more than 18 months back. Then began a round of bargaining, me not being from this part of the country wasnt helping either. A good half an hour later i was a proud owner of Sparx Rebel with an extra smoked visor all at 7750 bucks.
    Alas temptation wins again

In the odd half hour of riding that i did after my purchase, the helmet impressed me no end. Its damn light as compared to my earlier GPR, the padding is really snug though for the first time it did suffocate me a little. The air vents actually work really well and were keeping my head absolutely cool and the looks are to die for. God get me my ninja quick now

I finally ended up buying a clear visor for my LS2.And also learnt how to remove the inner padding completely.
Was I cheated for 650 for a clear LS2 visor ? The only thing i liked abt funky's at Bandra was that they didn't force me to buy a new helmet when I asked them for an opinion and were happy selling me a clear visor instead.
    Thank you both.

    Looking for a
    1. Solid colour helmet - Am not much in to Graphics,
    2. Dual Visor - Dont want to carry an extra shild for night driving
    3. Removable liner - Hate smelly helmets
    4. Budget 10-12k

    Need a Good quality lid.

I will be doing a few short weekend rides once the weather gets a little better. I need this helmet for touring and will prefer a modular one.
