The jade replacement is very low-end low quality, dont go for it instead of tht you can go for studds rhyno or vega formula hp.
    Why ignoring Index ?
Ok, but atleast from far the helmet build looked good! So did the graphics. Now I'm suspecting maybe I saw the Studds Rhyno!
Anyways, reason for ignoring Index is lack of availability in Hyderabad. Visors are also a major problem here.
Vega-anything except the high end is ruled out from now on.
Guess I need to check out the Ninja 3G in the flesh once again!
    Thanks for your inputs.

      • I bought a cross from Megha Enterprises in Bangalore! awesome place to buy an helmet! Got a very good deal there. Also got a clear visor for the helmet! Thanks to gd76 for his reference, helped me big time! will post the pics soon!

Visit Megha Enterprises in Bangalore if ur looking for a helmet! They have good collections in AGV, Vega, Cross, also imported AGVs going for the same price as the sparx i think.. 7.5K-8K. Also they stock spares for mpa-agvs, cross visors and brackets etc. i found what i required and more over there! not to mention the very patient proprietor of the place who helped me with my selections.

Also a big thanks to Gautham (gd76) here on xbhp for all his help with my purchasing in bangalore recently!

          • Just got myself a new MPA AGV from Auto Queen in Cochin. Will post the pictures on monday after I get back to B'lore. Guys in Kerala this is the place to go to if you want to buy a helmet. They have a very good range of helmets there including GPR, Index, Cross, MPA, MPA AGV & some imported AGVs.

Was chatting with the owner of the shop (who is very knowledgable on helmets - he has even been to the Index manufacturing plant) who is one of the few distributors in India for helmets. I asked him about the imported Vega helmets : he said that the move to bring these helmets was a flop & you wont find many of them as they did it mainly to gauge the market reaction (incidentally I saw a nice looking black & silver Vega for 3100 bucks in another place, Im guessing its the same one you guys are talking about). Now comes the good part - he was telling me that within a month or so AGV is going to be bringing in their imported helmets in a huge way and the ones that you find now for 8k + will be available for 3k - 4k onwards (economies of scale) !

            • Anything wrong with with Bieffe?

After going through the gazillion pages on this thread, something i found strange is that almost nobody talks about Steelbird Bieffe. Is it that the brand and it's quality is so bad that it does not warrant any discussion or some other reason.

I mean, people quite like the GP one, but thats about it from the Steelbird stable.

I recently bought a Steelbird helmet. Was looking for the Vega Boolean, but wasn't really comfortable with the thought that a half-face/flip-up mechanism would be very safe in case of a crash. Went to the shop and he showed me this Bieffe. Said it's a new model. Tried it on and it was quite comfortable and i also liked the styling and the finish. Obviously it isn't a high-end model, costs around 800 bucks, but i find it pretty good for daily use.

Im attaching a pic, experts please comment on this.

P.S. It is a very basic helmet. teh padding is pretty good but it isn't removable or anything. clear visor, and the quality is good.

                • Forgot to add 1 thing - apparently GPR is no longer being imported, so whatever GPR's you find are old stock. Anyone interested in picking up GPR's could use that to try to bring the prices down.

                  • Good to know that you love it. I too feel the same way. And at 800 bucks, it's a bargain.

The shop from where i bought it( in Noida) said that "le kar jao, sab poochhenge kahan se liya, kitne ka hai" and believe me that was the reaction i got from people at work.

as for more pics, here's the link.

Steelbird Bieffe has many models, like SB-13, SB-1 etc. So I wanted to know which model is it?

Not yet man, I will go on Sunday. If I don't like it, I will go in for a low end Studds/Steelbird&then get the Vega high end from Bangalore.
