Secondly folks who would like to purchase their gears elsewhere, apart from India (US of A or UK or elsewhere) please read this post before you post questions in the forum.
For starters, Revzilla (a US company that deals with motorcycle goods) will only process direct international orders if the total excluding taxes and shipping is over USD$300. Unless the helmet you're buying is something like a Shoei or Arai, you're probably going to have to use one of the landed-price international buying companies, like iShopInternational, ShopYourWorld, 20North, Cart2India etc. These companies will handle all the customs and shipping details, and will give you a final price for your purchase including shipping etc. Be aware that the final price will be just about double the cost of the items you ordered.
Do your research first on these companies, and make sure you are comfortable with the one you choose. For example, I bought some non-motorcycle stuff a while back, and iShopInternational couldn't do the purchase. ShopYourWorld ended up taking nearly 6 months to actually get my order, and the company I was buying from eventually refused to deal with them anymore, so I ended up only getting half of the items I wanted. 20North and Cart2India are supposed to be better, but I can't say for sure. Both places had incomplete websites last time I checked with them, and both are somewhat more expensive, though they both have better reputations for reliability than ShopYourWorld. Check around for customer reviews (especially ones posted somewhere other than the company's website, such as MouthShut; keep in mind though that you're going to see lots of negatives for anyone, because happy customers rarely say anything). Once you have the third-party buyer picked out, contact Revzilla and let them know what you're trying to do, and that you'll be using a third-party intermediary to handle the purchase. That way they'll be ready for the order. If you can get a name from someone at the buying company that you can give to Revzilla as a point of contact for your order, that will help.
If your order is expensive enough for Revzilla to process it directly, you'll have to contact the customs office for your state and get all the details for the paperwork and the import process. You may need to get some kind of affadavit that you're importing the items for personal use. Expect to end up paying more than double the cost of your items once you've paid for shipping and all the customs fees India charges. I also tried this route one time for some gloves, and it was an enormous hassle; at one point the gloves I ordered were sent back by customs because they weren't sure the shipping papers were correct, and they didn't tell me about it until I had gone to them to find out what was taking my order so long to arrive.
